Today I got my surgery date. April 9, 2007. I went to see the dr and did the seminar because it is a 2 1/2 hour drive so we spent the night. Dr. K at MISH (Institute for Bariatric Surgery) said she would do the Lap Band with my BMI of 35 because of all my broken limbs and joints that have caused arthritis everywhere. She did notice I had had a feeding tube during my accident and that would cause for a longer and more expensive surgery. She said she would have to clean up all the scar tissue caused by the feeding tube which healed and now my stomach is stuck up against my abdominal wall. She is also going to have to detach my stomach from my wall. So even though this is not good she says it will not interfere with my band when she's done. So I'm still really excited about the surgery, just a little longer than expected. But I have had 12 surgeries, all on my broken limbs so this surgery will be my shortest.
