Hello! My name is Shanell and I have been reading everyone blog since April taking it all in. My surgery date w/ Dr. Averbach has been scheduled for Tues July 13,2010. I was fortunate not to have to do the pre op diet, but I have been trying to adhere to my new lifestyle for a couple of months now. I am starting to get anxious and nervous about my upcoming surgery and I am starting to doubt whether or not I made the right decision when choosing the lap band over the gastric bypass. I am blessed for being approved for the lap band b/c my bmi (36) was considered to be low by my doctor so I know I probably would have had a long fight if I chose the bypass. I just hope I am making the right decision.
