Alejandro Aguirre

"I had done research and read hundreds of opinions before deciding to go out of country. My insurance would cover nothing and I did not want to wait a year to jump through hoops and possibly still be unsuccessful because I didn't meet the 100 pound requirement. I made decisions for my doctor based on other people's opinions. Now that the surgery is over, I am happy to state that I was/am very happy with Dr Aguirre. He answered questions promptly and continues to respond quickly to emails. I was very comfortable at Cardiomed and had little trouble with the language. No trouble with Dr A's communication or bedside manner. His aftercare instructions are short and simple as were his pre-op directions. This could lead to a feeling of heading into the unknown with no one to hold your hand. I'd always opt for surgical competence, and that is what I got from Dr Aguirre. I'm 3.5 weeks out and am doing fine. My only issue was with one nurse who didn't even try to communicate with me. Everyone else had some English or could pantomime what was needed. "
