My name is eduardo troche born and raise in Puerto Rico. My health began to become an issue because of being overweight. I always get the silly remarks from family and friends about how I have a beautiful face. Was always told lose some weight and you will be better. I started to see how diabetes and hypertension was affecting my life and my family and I saw a good friend named C. Farley improve his health and quality of life. Charles referred me to Dr. James Sapala on 9/11/2008. Upon evaluating and informing me of the benefits and the risk of open gastric bypass My family and I decided that this was a path that I must take with Dr. Sapala at the helm. I lost a few pounds before surgery. On 10/15/2008 a filter was placed for the prevention of blood clots by one of Dr. Sapala's colleagues Dr. Acenapura. On 10/22/2008 my open gastric bypass procedure began. I was so nervous as anyone is upon surgery but everyone made the transition smooth and easy. Dr. Sapala smiled and said all the right things as well. Even when he was in the hospital he was calling for a progress report about me 4 to 5 times a day. I was discharged on the third day by Dr. Sapala and he has seen me since. No matter how many questions or how many times i had to be seen The Staff has been there for me in more ways than medically. To all of you whom are now working with me on my weight loss I say may the Good Lord bless you. All of your efforts and hard work are very much appreciated by this patient. My family and friends will hear about you because that is the highest compliment I can give Dr. Sapala, Mary, Debra, Cynthia, Dr. Acenapura and the front ladies(Denise, Karen and Angela). I also want to say thank you to our support team they also rock.
