Six months out.....I am sorry for not updating....
Dec 10, 2007
Hi Everybody!
Well, I have my new photo posted. I have sent in my before and after photos, two of each....they were approved and I will be signing the consent form for Obesity help to use them.
The photo you see in my profile now is 182 pounds SLIMMER than I was back the last part of April when I had surgery!
I just want to tell everyone...if you can't afford surgery here....the place to go is www.affordablebariatrics.com. Dr. Valencia was my surgeon and Dr. Sylvia was the assisting surgeon. My experience there in Bogota, Columbia, South America, was incredible. You absolutely will not go wrong by using these guys. I could have never been treated here in the states the way I was there. I want you to know that I was so heavy that after the surgery I couldn't even wipe my hinee when I went to the bathroom...their nurses took care of that for me and showered me every single time I went to the bathroom and made sure that every single time all my fat rolls were dried and powdered where I would have no problems.....I will be glad to share my experience further with anyone interested.
For some reason, they did not post my before and after pictures here, so I am assuming they want to use them (obesityhelp.com) on their before and after pages only...not sure. But...when you see them....it really is me....I look so much different though you would think it isnt...but it's me. In the before photo I weighed in at over 400 pounds, so you can imagine.
I am now walking, jogging lightly, have not had to have surgery on my knees as before, and my cholesterol..what cholesterol...it was never high before but now it is like 90, and my good cholesterol is like 50, and my glucose is 69. My whole way of life has improved significantly.
I just flew down to Houston. When I got on the plane...first of all I did not have to ask for an extender.....secondly, the seatbelt fit with an extra 6 to 8 inches left. I was able to let down the tray without it resting on my stomach and not fitting...and more importantly....I was able to let the arms of the seat down and still have about 2-3 inches on either side. :-)
I am happy guys and gals. I hope all of you out there have the joy of getting rid of your excess weight and getting your life back. If there is anything I could do to help anyone overcome their obstacles....please do not hesitate to call upon me. I have rid myself of the demon...."the food." I now have control over it. :-)
Merry Christmas! -- Tammy

Nervous energy. Anxious. Excited. Scared. Leaving for South America Tuesday morning via Atlanta. Flying from Atlanta straight into Bogota, Columbia. Wednesday will be a full day at the hospital with all sorts of tests. Wahoo..fun fun. Thursday 10:00 am cst..surgery.
I am looking forward to the surgery. My cousin really wanted to have the surgery done while we were there as well, since I covered her airfare and hotel expenses there, but she just couldn't come up with the funding. I really wanted to help her, but couldn't get all the money for her. We are going to keep working to get her the funds.
In the meantime, she is supporting me in my journey. Her name is Heather.
I will try to update my blog here as much as possible so that I can let everyone know how things went. I hope people look at my blog and read it because I am going to take it very seriouus and I think it will help keep me committed to my goals.
Good Luck to all. -- Tammy

Turned down twice......no hope in sight...

Looks like I will just take out a loan on my house to do this surgery.
It's paid for and that's a blessing. However, paying $15,000.00+ for a surgery doesn't make me happy, but I know it will be worthwhile when I look at the results later.
So, I am going to take the first step and look for financing this week. Im going to take plenty of time and choose the right company.
