Hi all,
[P]Thanks for your kind words. I checked into Mercy Hospital Tuesday morning and came home Friday afternoon. [bold]Whew![/bold] What an experience that was.
[P]I had Lap surgery with removal of my gall bladder. The doc & nurses said the surgery went very well with no complications. Afterwards, I did have a staph infection, some fever and poor oxygen satuation, but those were all taken care of before I left on Friday.
[P]Susan came to visit every morning and my regular nurse, Lorrie, was fantastic. The night-time CNA, I can't recall her name, as also a huge help. She gave me sponge bath to wash off all of the betadine because I was itching so bad.
[P]There isn't much pain, thankfully. It just feels like cramping and tightness. I'll be thrilled when the drainage tube comes out on Thursday.
[P]The only problem I'm having is being able to drink enough liquids each day. I can only get down about 1/2 the recommendation and I'm starting to feel dehydrated. I feel a lot better today so I should be able to get down more.
[P]My poor Mother has been here everyday helping me. I jokingly tell her that I only had the surgery to get her to come over here and clean my house.
[P]Anyway, thanks again for all of your kind words & thoughts. I feel pretty good and it can only get better.
