My name is Tracy and I am 33 years old and married to my high school sweatheart. I was always very thin  and active during my childhood through high school. I am 5 feet tall and I weigh 201.  As soon as I moved out on my own that all changed. I was going out alot with friends and co-workers. I didn't have any rules since I was on my own, so I was out late and eating and drinking and sleeping in and not being active. The weight began to creep up and I pushed it to the back of my mind. One day I noticed I had strech marks on my upper thighs and I was horrified. I had gone up 3 pant sizes! I tried to diet but that ended up falling by the wayside and I fell back into my old habits. As the years went on I gained more and more weight. I have done Weight Watchers a ton of times. I have tried Slim Fast, Atkins/low carb, Sugar busters.. I even ordered some 'fat-burner' pills on the internet which ended up making me sick. (The instructions were in Chinese!) I have joined gyms and stopped going because I felt like people were staring at me and judging me for my size. I won a contest once and got a personal trainer for a year. I ended up losing 31 pounds, which is the most weight I have ever lost. As soon I stopped seeing the trainer, the weight came back because I couldn't maintain it or keep going on my own. I got so discouraged. I would try to work out and get tired and winded so easily. I want to work out but the extra weight literally weighs me down. It makes it hard to do anything. I went to an amusement park this fall and just barely fit in the seats for roller coasters. Since I am short, buying clothes is a chore. I usually wear dresses or loung pants. My knees and ankles hurt. My feet are swollen. I can't cross my legs at all. I am borderline diabetic and I have high blood pressure.  I researched WLS years ago but I didn't think it was for me. I think I was just in denial. I started researching it more around Thanksgiving and decided LapBand might be something for me. I went to the seminar at the local hospital on Jan. 12th. I went to my PCP on the 18th and she gave the letter of approval and I also did my blood work the same day. She sent over my letter and lab results to the surgeon two days later. I did my psych. evaluation on the 26th and also got the approval from the psychiatrist. Today, I got the call for the meeting with the surgeon and nutritionist. I can't wait to get my surgery date and just get healthier and feel better. I want to get off of the anti-depressants and sleep aids. I want to be able to enjoy all of the things I can't fully enjoy now.
