"I cannot say enough about the staff, the doctors and nurses there are incedible. "

Henry Buchwald

"My first impression of Dr. Buchwald, was proefessionalism and friendliness. As he spoke, I saw just how to the point he was, the man doesn't mince words and he does have a sense of humor. His office staff was friendly and helpful, but very business like. Not much for idle conversation. What I liked least about him was his sarcasm. It's hard to tell if he is being serious or funny. He isn't going to coddle a person. He was pretty clear about the aftercare. No lifting heavy for three months, wound care, exercise and food intake. The dietician also answered many questions, and I had a chance to meet people who had had it done, and they seemed thrilled with the surgery, and one woman declared that he saved her life. He was very kind to those patients. He discussed aftercare, but not a solid program, just what we should do. When it came to the risks, he was very blunt. He gave statistics of success and then the trade offs. 1/2 % of people can die....But he very firmly pointed out, that it was a 100% dead person. He was, in my opinion, very clear about the risks, and I appreciated that. I would give him a 9 rating. As for surgeical competence, I have yet to undergo the surgery. Well, these are the answers to the actual questions. All in all, I thought Dr. Buchwald was great. His beside manner is decent, not the best I have experienced, but I have the impression he does the best he can, he does work a lot of hours, which can have a downside. For me, I think he is great, but that is just my view and opinion. You need to meet him for yourself and form an opinion of course. I do recommend at least a seminar consultation with him though! "
