3 months out
Oct 11, 2011
Well I am 3 months out and now have gone from 290 down to 224 for a total of 66lbs. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
I did have to go clothes shopping but it was soooooo nice to try on clothes and actually like how they fit. Mike went with me and it was a ton of fun. He loved everything I put on. The support he has given has been unbelievable. He has been so encorageing And he loves to cook for me.
I really need to be careful I started eating junk in Disney and the weight kept flying off. Now I am home and I feel like I am addicted to junk. I continue to see the weight move but I know that it will stop and I will regain. UGGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At this point I really need to add exercise into my day It just doesn't seem like there are enough hours in the day to find the time.

50 LBS LOST
Sep 03, 2011
Well it has been 2 months since the surgery. My weight before the nasty shakes was 289. Today I officially weigh 238.8 a total of 50 lbs lost.
I was feeling really down about my loss just 4 weeks ago. The weight was not moving. So to see such a big loss is very encouraging. We spent the last 16 days in Disney (thanks to hurricane Irene) so I was unable to weigh myself. In 16 days I lost 12 lbs.
I am in desperate need of new clothes. I will soon be visiting a consignment shop.
I am feeling great!!!! Have tons of energy and am very glad I had this surgery

Weight is not moving
Jul 25, 2011
Ok at 3 weeks post op I was 260. At 4 weeks I am 259.6 I am VERY FRUSTARTED. But I am thankful to the people on the support page who many of them have had stopped weight loss at around 3 weeks lasting up to 4 weeks and then movement again. I must say I am ready for the scale to move. I cannot possibly be eating so much that I cannot lose weight. Other then that I feel great. My clothes that were all too tight to wear now fit comfortably.
Other then the scale not moving for a week I feel really good. I can lift without pain. I can move about freely. I did stop taking the shakes. I'm hoping I'm getting enough protein. I have started all of my vitamins and have no problem swallowing them. I feel as if I never had surgery

Feeling SOOOOO much better day 19 post op
Jul 17, 2011
I had my first post op visit. I had been feeling pretty crapy until now. Then it seems like overnight I started to feel a whole lot better.
I am down 21 lbs at my 2 week post visit. (since I started the shakes I am officially down 29 lbs today) WHOOOOO WHOOOOOO. Pain seems to be gone. I stopped wearing the abdominal binder. And people are starting to notice the loss. I have lots of energy even though my intake is still limited. I must say I enjoy the soft diet I have begun and have had not issues with food intake. I'm starting to maybe like the fact that I had this surgery?????

Post op day 6 and Hungry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jul 04, 2011
I had my surgery on June 28th. Tomorrow is officially one week post op. Surgery went well. Have been tolerating full liquids for 6 days now. No vomiting. Although I think hunger has officially set in. I'm finding myself surrounded by summer BBQ's and wanting to have fresh corn on the cob etc...Still wondering if this is normal to feel this way????
I decided to weigh myself day 2 post op and actually gained 4 lbs. They said it was from a fluid shift. Needing to be encouraged by the scale on the 15th which is my post op visit.
I find I like the Atkins pre mixed chocolate shakes. The only other full liquids I like are 1. sugar free jello. 2. sf chocolate pudding. 3. Mashed potatoes. So that's pretty much my 2 week diet.
As for pain. I did well!!! IV toradol in the hosp. home on tylenol added tylenol with codeine only for bed time for 5 days. Slept in the recliner for 5 nights.
Started using the binder day 6 and what a difference it makes. I highly recommend the abd binder!!!!!!!!

1 week to go
Jun 21, 2011
Well I have completed one week of Protein shakes.
1 more week to go
I am feeling like a failure. I have cheated on the shakes and had a meal or 2 etc......
I only lost 3 lbs from the time I started the shakes. The doctor expected me to lose 10-15 for the 2 week total.
I am nervous about the surgery and wonder if I can truly make this life time commitment. I continue to read other stories and it seems as if NO ONE regrets the surgery. I do hope that will be the same for me.
I am very excited and lookig forward to my new life but am still so fearful inside.
I often hear people say surgery is the easy way out and yet this decision has been one of the hardest I have ever made.
