I've lost 80 lbs and now I'm Preggo!

Nov 11, 2008

I am amazed that I have lost 80 lbs! However, I am 9 weeks preggo, which means I get to gain some of that weight all over again! But, at least it's for a good reason. So far, I haven't gained anything- in fact, the last couple of pounds I've lost were after I found out I was PG. I'm sure it'll come though, once the morning sickness slows down!

52 Pounds Lighter!!! :)

Jul 14, 2008

So, it's been a while since I've logged on, but I am just about 2.5 months out of surgery and I am already down 52 lbs! I cannot believe I have already lost that much weight! My clothes are all falling off and I am loving my new self! I am so very thankful I had this surgery! :)

6 weeks out and in ONEDERLAND!!!

Jun 12, 2008

This Tuesday was my 6th week out from surgery and I was so very excited that on the same day, I entered ONEDERLAND! I cannot believe I have lost 40 pounds in six weeks! I feel great and my clothes are falling off! This was the best decision I ever made! :)

One month surgiversary! ;)

May 30, 2008

Yesterday was my one month surgiversary and I couldn't be more satisfied with the way things are going! I have lost 33 lbs and I already feel better. I am eating normal (soft) foods, but just in tiny portions! I started going to the gym Tuesday and I was able to do 15 minutes on the elliptical and about 10 minutes of light weight lifting for my arms. Wednesday I increased my time on the elliptical to 20 minutes, but only did one arm exercise and then yesterday I did 20 minutes on the elliptical and all of my arm workout. It feels great being able to shed old clothes! I know the weight loss is going to slow down (it already has some), but I know I'll be at goal before I know it! ;)

2 weeks post-op ;)

May 13, 2008

I'm starting to feel normal again- I'm still a little sore in my largest incision, but other than that I feel much better! My husband and I went to the beach last weekend, and I didn't feel much like anything but laying around, after all isn't that what vacations are for? I think our little R&R weekend helped with my recovery. I'm exactly 2 weeks out today, so I am happy with the way things are going so far! Since I started dieting for the surgery, (1200 calorie diet for 5 days then liquid for 10) and had the sleeve, I have lost 27 lbs- not too shabby in my book! I will go back to the Doctor next Wednesday, so hopefully that will go well too!

Home Sweet Home :)

May 02, 2008

I FINALLY got to leave the hospital around 3pm yesterday. Having the drain removed was the worst thing- it seemed like it was 10ft long :( I got home around 5pm and took a showe and sat around a bit. I was able to have some broth and juice before bed. I went to bed around 8pm and slept suprisingly well. I was even able to get up myself this morning. I've been walking alot and doing light activities (folding clothes, drying my hair, etc...) and I'm feeling pretty good. I have one incision that is quite a bit larger than the others and it's bruised worse and dented inward (I'm thinking this might have been where my stomach was removed) that seems to be extra sore and sensitive and when I sit for long periods, it hurts to stand straight up? Hope this is normal??? Anyhoo... I'm feeling a lot better just being at home! Now I just have to wait on the pounds to start flying off! :)

Sleeved, sore & sipping ;)

Apr 30, 2008

First of all Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I was sleeved yesterday morning and was up walking last night. I walked a lot today, but the hospital waited so long to do my swallow test that I just started liquids about  2 hours ago. I have had 2 ounces of  apple juice diluted with water and am now sipping on some broth. I am doing well, just really sore where a drain was left inside one of my incisions. If everything continues to go well I should be able to go home tomorrow!

Countdown mode ;)

Apr 28, 2008

It's almost time! I will be leaving home today around 5:30pm headed to Atlanta. We are staying in a hotel tonight, because I have to be at the hospital at 5:30am tomorrow. I am nervous and excited all at the same time. Today has been horrible- I lost the paperwork with the hospital information and had to call up and have it faxed to me and then I called the hospital to pay and it was $5000 more than what I had been quoted- ugh! I have made up my mind anyway, so by this time tomorrow I will be sleeved! I am about to head to the grocery to pick up some things for after surgery and some meds just in case!

4.21.2008- 8 days until surgery!

Apr 21, 2008

My husband and I went to the beach this weekend and being on the liquid diet was extremely hard. I had done so well until Saturday when I had a crabcake for lunch instead of soup :( Oh well... I followed the rules other than that! I'm just ready to get this all over with an move along! The worst part for me so far hasn't really been the dieting- it's shopping. I am most definetly a shopaholic, and I feel stupid buying clothes that HOPEFULLy won't fit in a month! I feel like I am wearing the same things over and over again because I refuse to go buy new clothes! Anyway, I don't have too much longer to go... so I'll just enjoy my soup for another 8 days! ;)

4.17.2008- 12 more days!

Apr 17, 2008

I had my last test, the endoscopy yesterday. It went very smoothly and I met with Dr. Davis afterwards to go over all of my tests and schedule a surgery date. I will be having the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 @ 5:30 am! I am getting excited now! =)
