5 Months and 71 pounds down!!!
Jun 03, 2009
Things are going good, I still have problems eating at times and want more food than I am able to eat. That is a good thing I guess... I have lots more energy and can walk with no knee pain most of the time. I down to a size 16 in my jeans, from a 26... WOW!!!!! I am going to take a picture in my BIG jeans this weekend and hopefully post it. I get compliments from all my co-workers... they all call me skinny... that really makes me feel good to be called that. Even though I know I still have a long way to go, before I am skinny.
My mom and dad are the greatest... they tell me how proud they are of me all the time, my mom likes to brag on me to all her friends.
I went to the lake this past weekend and enjoyed a peddle boat ride with my grandkids and it was great to be able to enjoy this with no problem.

I am so happy and feel so GOOD!!! I still have some issues with eating meats, but overall I am doing great. The pounds are melting off and I cannot keep any clothes that fit me. I will write more later and hope to change the picture soon. I get complements all the time from freinds and family telling me I look so good. I wonder sometimes, if that means I did not look good before
!!! I know they do not mean anything by that, but I always wonder why people say that

Hey everyone, today I went for my 2 week followup with Dr. DeMaria and he said everything is on track as it should be. I have lost 20 pounds *hurray*. He also took me off the blood pressure meds totally, my blood pressure was running on the low end. I am no longer taking any meds I was taking prior to my surgery. I was taking 4 glouphage daily, 1 lisinopril, 1 atenolol, 1 junevia, 1 zetia, 1 niaspan, 1 aspirin, 1 fish oil capsule, 1 flax seed oil capsule. I am now taking 1 prilosec, 1 chewable vitamin, 1 sublingual B12, and 1800mg of calcium. That is only one prescription pill, the surgery was worth it just for this!!!! I also got to progress to Stage 3 foods on this visit, I was really happy for this. It is really weird how little you can eat now. I wanted fish as my first meal, we went to Mayflower Fish Restaurant and I ordered 1 piece of broiled flouder, I could only eat maybe 1/3 of this piece of fish. It was not very big, but 1/3 was not alot of fish either. I knew I was full when I started kinda hurting in my chest. I guess it is not good to wait until you start hurting, but I have to figure out when enough is enough cause I feel no hunger nor any fullness (except for the pain). I need to continue to work on my liquids, I have come close to dehydration several times this week and really need to work on that. I am also starting on a exercise schedule tomorrow, that will be great I am sure. Well until next time, hopefully I will have pictures to post on next doctor visit. - Teresa

Hey everyone, I am doing great except I know I am not getting in enough fluids. I am not hungry and the protein shakes I thought I was going to have for my 3 weeks fluids, just do not sit well on my little pouch. The drink feels way to heavy when I drink it and causes me some pain. I was drinking the EAS low carb protein, but will have to move on to boost or ensure, somehing lighter. Is anyone else having problems getting in all the liquids in one day. I was told to drink 24 ozs of protein and 64 ozs of fluid. There is no way I can get all that in, in days time. I do not think I am even getting in 24 ozs of protein in a day. I try to make sure I drink more protein than regular fluids, but it is about the hardest thing I have ever had to do. But great news, I was taking 5 meds for diabeties, 2 for high blood pressure, 2 for cholesterol and I am taking nothing for diabeties and 1 for my blood pressure which I belive will be dropped soon and nothing for my cholesterol. I also had been diagnosed with sleep apnea and while I was in the hospital I did not have to use my CPAP machine the first time. I thank God for at lesst being healed of all my health probelms and the weight will just be an added bonus. I believe in this website and I believe we all will help each other through our hard times. I about knew what to expect with my surgery, by the posts from all the great members on here. Thanks to all of you and I hope I can help others to come. - Teresa
