I am beginning the bariatric program at GSRMC in Corvallis. I had my first meeting last night. It was about insurance which I'm sure is helpful to others, but I had already checked into this, so I didn't find out anything new. That's okay. It's a prerequisite to become an actual patient. I have my first appointment on September 7 with the program coordinator and have other appointments scheduled in September. It's going to be a VERY busy month!

Well, I have a surgery date. I am very nervous and at the same time, anxious to get on with my new life. My preop appointment is October 23, and from there I'm sure the time will fly!

Yikes! I am sitting here at home alone and going nuts waiting for the big day. I can't imagine what the next 2 weeks will bring!

It's hard to believe that I posted a month ago. Time flies! I am 2 weeks postop and getting better all the time. I am down 33 pounds and I can't believe it! Next Monday I go back to work, which I think will be fine since I work at a sedentary job. I need to get exercising though, so my goal is to start walking as much as possible. I am in the "mushy" stage and started it yesterday. That first meal felt like Thanksgiving! hehe! Speaking of which, this will be my first Thanksgiving "on the other side" but I'm not worried. Whatever hunger or sadness I may feel is negated by my weight loss and the great things to come. I have had many a Thanksgiving in the past, so no biggy. I will eat my 2 oz. of Turkey and be totally satisfied.
