11.10.08 I'm getting closer...I think?

Well, it's been rough this past two weeks...Called the Bariatrics department where I am having my surgery and they seem to have lost my medical records that were sent via mail on 10.15.08, they can not find the initial paperwork from orientation either and I faxed it, mailed origianals, and faxed two more times. Okay, well they finally recieved the last fax but my medical records for the last 2 years are still missing. wow, What is going on...I am frustrated with them. My insurance package for Bariatrics is about 8 pages long and guess what I am done with the first 6 pages.. the rest is to do with the doctors and such. Well, my good new for today is that I lost 12lbs...Yeah! I need to lose that 5% before surgery and now I just need to lose another 6 lbs and I am there and finished with that requirement in my insurance package. So, okay now what...I just sit here and wait for the Bariatrics department to call me and get the ball rolling. I am done with all the things I need to do. Thanks for listening to me vent...
10.23.08 Weight Loss Journey Begins Today...

Well, my insurance says I have to loose 5% of my weight prior to surgery. So my first weigh in was today and I have to start walking 1 mile a day and hopefully it will make a difference and I will loose some weight. I haven't had much success with it but I need try a l a little harder...I also have to go on a 1200 calorie a day, which I guess I am used to eating at least 3000 per day so I am really not sure how to do it, any suggestions would be very helpful. When do all the questions stop? Why is it taking so long to get paperwork shuffle in, approaved paperwork, people to call you back, asking for a contact person so you don't have to tell you life story each and everytime you call for insurance questions. I am so darn sick of this insurance stuff...people are making it so much more difficult than it needs to be forsure...so here i am, the waiting game...whose gonna call back first...

Oh my gosh...that is an under statement...frustrated with insurance issues the last couple of days. I have had this all worked out and approved 3 weeks ago and the attending physicians are still confused how do the billing process. It really doesn't take a rocket scientist to do the billing the way I need it too and I am still having to make a million phone calls to the same people with the same answer. WOW! I hope this doesn't last much longer...I just want to move forward with the process as quickly as I can make it happen.
9.29.08 Today...My Journey begins...

Going to my first Surgical Weight Reduction Program meeting tonight Sept.29th. As time progress, I will be updating regularly. My time line begins on September 29, 2008 when I go to the orientation. I am waiting on the paperwork shuffle to go through...get appointment with PSY, and appointment with nutritionist. So wish me luck.
