Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side. The trumpets are blaring, the cymbals are crashing and the drums are drumming – all for YOU! I hope that all went well for you! You’ve been out of surgery now for a little over a month – YIPPIE!!! Your journey will have moments to “pause” – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)… RNY 10/31/03 – down 82 pounds!!! Good luck! - btw - I really like your profile!

This is Denise - I was present with Sharon on her bon-voyage CRUISE to the Other side. It was a great day! We were all so surprised and thankful that we had a great nurse! AND a private room. Sharon is so awefully sweet that the nurse just couldn't help securing us the BEST ROOM inthe house as well as directing family and friends to it. So it started of great! Jim, of course, was there as well as Sharon's son Joe, whom I had never met before but who is really a very nice, funny, intelligent interesting person and Jim's Mom, Marie a.k.a. O'ma. We we supposed to go to surgery at 12 - but I will let Sharon give you all the details later. Surgery started about 4:00 and BOTH doctors came out at 7:15 (fully dressed and both looking tired, maybe a little stressed) they had said that they had found an extra amount of fat around Sharons stomach and that it made it more difficult than usual. Further, he said that is not really usual in woman. But that it had taken about an hour longer then if that had not been the case. Both doctors concurred that a test was conducted to verify is the flow was god and everything looks fine. I had asked if it was necessary for them to open her up since they had that difficulty and no they had not. She's a "LAP BABY". and they do not feel that there are any reasons to believe that everything isnt perfectly normal. When I left the hospital at 7:30, she was resting comfortably in the recovery room with a tube down her nose (standard practice for these doctors). Her son Anthony filled me in at 10pm that she was in her room and felling nausous (very common) but A-ok. Its 11:45 now the next day and she is resting in her room no problems, But Jim is going nuts! But he is doing a FANTASTIC JOB with taking care of a millions things - no exaggeration there either. THANK YOU LORD and all of you for your prayers, Sharon is loved by so many people GOD must have been going deaf yesterday...lol

THANK YOU ALL for your kind words. I appreciate the support and will do my best to offer the same words to others once I "cross over" to the losing side. I WISH TO THANK LINDA FOR LISTENING TO ALL MY RANTINGS OVER THE COURSE OF THE LAST SIX MONTHS! GIRLFRIEND...WE ARE GOING SHOPPING!! I wanted to wish you well with your upcoming surgery. I hope that all goes well and that you are up and out and about real soon. I'll bet you are are doing a happy dance accompanied by a bundle of unwanted "NERVES", but don't worry be HAPPY! You are in my thoughts and prayers. Good Luck!
