My story. I am 47. I have been overweight my whole life. I have been on most diets I can think of. I was completely against WLS. I said I will never get it. I will die from being overweight rather than from the risks of surgery or anethesia. After having some health problems, My gyn told me I would not live to see 60 if I did not do something. He is a wonderful doctor and said this in a very caring conversation. After that conversation I had made up my mind. I want to be here for my 3 children. I want to have grandchildren. So I am making my way through the steps to get my surgery.
Updating a year from when I wrote the above. I have a granddaughter now. I definitely want to be around to see her grow up and for more grandbabies.
