Hey all...
Yesterday was my one year anniversary for my RNY and I'm so happy...
109 lbs down - 25 left to go.
I'm at 150 lbs now - want to hit 125 lbs.

I squeezed into a pair of Size 4 jeans last night... LoL~

The Hard Grind Starts Now...

Apr 01, 2014

When they say the closer you get to goal weight, the harder (& slower) it will be to lose, they're not joking.
The last 34 lbs is going to be the hardest part of this whole journey, I'm pretty sure of it now.

It's still not sinking in that I've lost 100 pounds!
I keep pinching myself... that is so awesome - I still can't believe it.
Nowhere near ready to stop yet, though...
I need to pause for a second and enjoy the success so far.

Okay there - soaked it up for a few seconds, now time to push on~

I got a pair of Sz 6 jeans as my next incentive... so hopefully not too long away~

I'm on My Fitness Pal under TheCloudPainter, too

Take care all...

Dancing with the Devil

Feb 10, 2014

I seem to be at a stall at 168 & it's sooo very disheartening.

I've been doing some reading & research about this ketosis stuff...

It's very hard to stay under 10 carbs/day
Today's totals:

calories 404

carbs 8

protein 71

Going to get the supplies to make Magic Bullet Coffees tomorrow, and get more meat & cheeses, I guess.
Went on a walk around the *block* tonight with Shy...  nothing like 1.0 mile size blocks... hehe~

NERVES & LIFE... ugh

Feb 03, 2014

Wow - I finally saw today that I am an emotional eater...
Luckily - not much bad food here to eat and showed a lil restraint...
but here's my diet for the day...

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/food/diary/TheCloudPainter
Basically, 888 calories, 109 carbs & 73 protein.

Not cool... :(

Was 168 this AM, which was nice to see...

In it for the fight of my life...

Feb 01, 2014

No dress rehearsals - this is the REAL THING, BABY~
The shit just got real.

I found my best friend's profile on here last night...
Very sad, but I figured I can carry on the fight where she left off.
She was busting her ass to beat the 100# mark and sadly, passed away from an accidental overdose.
She was so close.

She & I went to paramedic school together in Houston and were the best of friends.
She married my ex-husband's best friend and the 2 of them even came with us on our honeymoon... LoL~
I'm not mentioning names to protect her anonymity and there are her children, too...

Together - we fought weight for as long as I can remember.
We both started taking PhenFen & Redux... both did really well on losing weight with it.
With Phentermine, I managed to keep over 100 lbs off until I was in a head-on car wreck in 2007 and crushed my leg.
I knew the weight would come back on without being able to exercise or even move, so in Feb, 2009 I flew to Mexico and had a gastric sleeve by Dr Pompa. It wasn't successful - I lost 60, then gained about 80. Come to find out, she's infamous for making huge sleeves.

At Christmas, 2012 - I thought I had a spider bite on my leg... it turned out to be cellulitis when I went to the ER. I also found out I had the beginnings of COPD & very high blood pressure. Oh joy~!
Talking 210/180... ugh...
I was put on BP meds (4 of them)...
I also stopped smoking on Jan 18, 2013 - thank you, Chantix & eCigs!

But I was at 259 pounds in June, 2013.

After close to 4 years of self-loathing, depression & pushing people that loved me away, I finally realized that I could have a revision done. Doh~ (my aHa moment).

On August 5, I flew back down to Baja (the nice word for Tijuana) to Dr Garcia to get a DS.
He & Dr Velazco told me that an RNY would be best for me as I wasn't quite morbidly obese enough to warrant the DS. So, after much conferring back & forth, we agreed to an agressive RNY, bypassing more intestine than normal. That made me feel better.
I don't know if I could've handled another failed WLS emotionally.

After I got back home to Dallas, I had 5 weeks to pack & move...
Nowhere to go - nobody to go to...
Just my horses, dog & cats...

Packed up & moved to New Mexico - stayed in an elk hunters' cabin for 6 weeks, then moved over to Show Low, AZ. I've been here since December 1 or so... but not a job in site. I've been invited to test out for dispatched at the Show Low Police Department on Feb 24-25, but not sure I can last that long w/o a paycheck.
Looking at maybe moving to Payson, AZ???

Back to the weight loss journey...
Word to the Wise!
Don't plan on moving across country with 3 horses by yourself at 5 wks post-op!
Not a good idea.
Oh yeah - do NOT buy boiled eggs from gas stations...
bad juju~
I puked for 2 days from Dallas to Roswell, NM... lost 11 pounds though... LoL~

I've been using ISOPURE Zero Carb protein powders as my main supplement...
A friend bought me some 1 lb packets which I loved... I just bought 2 - 3# jugs of it myself.

My weightloss in the beginning was slow, but has been steady, stalls & all.

I still don't eat much real food - I am trying though...
I love a lil bit of Wendy's chili or some refried beans...
I also am having a love affair with dried okra with sea salt - I buy those at Wal Mart.

On Feb 5, I'll be 6 months post-op & I've lost 90 lbs.
Here's my journey so far:

START: June, 2013: 259#
PRE-OP: Aug 5, 2013: 244# (BMI 45.9)
CURRENT: Feb 1, 2014: 169# (BMI 29.9)
LOSS TO DATE: 90#

GOAL: 125# (would be total loss of 134#)

So yeah - I'm doing this for myself, my health & for She...
who I miss every single day...
We will beat this monster, yet.

I'm also on myfitnesspal under TheCloudPainter
Friend me - we can all use the support~
