I am a 33 year old IT professional from SC. I have always struggled with my weight but I have always been pretty happy with who I am. My family never considered my weight an issue when i was growing up so I never really thought about it too much. Not until my mid 20s when I started developing circulatory problems in my legs did anyone ever really say anything. Thats when the doctors started saying hey maybe you need to consider losing weight. I dont know if I just didnt take him serious because no ones ever really said anything or what. As the years went by i just kept gaining and gaining a little at a time until it got out of control.
So here we are...I am 32 I am 500+ pounds and I have gastric bypass scheduled for Oct. 6th 2008. I really hope everything works out and this helps me get my life on track and helps me be healthier. People keep asking me if I am nervous and they look at me strange when I say not one bit. The way I see it the surgury is something I have to do and whatever happens is meant to happen good and bad. I am ready to get it behind me and start a new healthier life. I am looking forward to things like not having to worry about booths in resaurants and being able to buy clothes from
stores off the rack. I never really had relationship problems because I have a very sweet personality but I am looking forward to people not judging me for my looks before they get to know me for who I am if you know what I mean.
I have done all of the things I need to do before the surgery. I have had my nutritional consult and my Psyciatric consult. I have had an echo on my heart and a gallbladder ultrasound. I have been to several siminars and I have watched ALOT of youtube videos. Everything was sent to the insurance company on Sept 12th 2008 and I am waiting on approval so they can schedule my pre-op. Wish me luck...if they turn down this surgery for someone over 500 pounds then something is very wrong am I rite???
