I started out as a normal sized child, but by the time I was in the 3rd grade I had turned to food for comfort. During my mid teens I had gotten taller and stayed the same weight, but was a Marilyn Monroe in a Twiggy generation, I felt huge. I stayed this weight for a number of years and then I lost a baby when I was 5 months pregnant. My weight ballooned by 50 lbs. in just a matter of months. Then came years of infertility and another 25 lbs., my husband was in the military and during his last overseas deployment I gained another 25 lbs. I stayed this weight for a number of years and then over the last few years I have just given up and my weight has sky rocketed. Since I turned 45 things have been doing a down hill slide as far as pain from the weight on my back (whole slew of troubles with it from scoliosis, artritis, and a twisted vertebra), my bad knee (childhood repeatd injury) and pain in one hip.
In fact it wasn't until I started to have my tests for the 3 month surgery plan, that I knew what bad shape I was in. I have High Blood pressure and I am really flirting around the edges of having diabeties which runs in one side of my family, then I find out I have low Vit. D (8.1), and an ulcer to boot. I am really looking forward to my surgery. I will gladly be that Marilyn Monroe that I once thought was so big. LOL
