Hello all... it's been awhile since I've posted... But I've been so busy with loosing weight and all... wink wink!! Kidding... I have lost weight though!! An official 40 lbs... been 40 for almost a week and a half now... time to get moving again!!!
This has really been such a roller coaster though... I worry everytime I slow down or don't loose a pound that this is it... I'm not gonna loose anymore... and sure enough it will start again coming off. I think the stalls are just to keep our heads in tact... you know... keep us from getting tooo cocky!! LOL!!!
Well enough for now... posted some new pics today... Holler again soon!!

December 26, 2006Hello all... just thought I'd give ya an update. Since surgery which was the 13th... I've lost a whopping 20 pounds even. I can't believe it!!!! This is according to my mother in laws scales. I go back for my 2-week post op on the 29th, so I'll know the "FOR SURE" amount then. I know it's quite a bit though because of the reaction I already get from friends and family who haven't seen me since surgery and the way my clothes fit is another give away. Either way.... it's coming off!!!

Okay... Surgery is done and went well. Stayed in the hospital only 2 days!! I'm home now with my family and sore as all get out... but still in a state of shock that it is actually DONE!!! The only things left to do are learn to eat again... and LOOSE WEIGHT!!! I'm soooo very excited.... I'll post some pics as soon as I get some new ones...

Okay again... lots to report!! How come all the sudden seams like the world is spinning and I'm the only one with NO TIME!! LOL!! Well last night (finally I thought they never would) the surgeons nurse called and gave me my date. It's in one week!!! Dec. 13th. I have to go on liquids tomorrow!!! Well they were taking so long to call me back with the date that I almost expected this to happen. When they finally called, that it would be a rush, rush, thing. Oh Well.... you know I'm not gonna complain!! I'll be off work for a few weeks after sugery... so I'll update lots then!! he he!!

OMG!!!!! I have soooo much news to relay!! I got approved!!! I can't believe it. To even think about it makes me cry!! I get to be healthy... sit on my husbands lap without hurting him... wear a belt and it look like it's supposed to... and I could go on forever!! You guys all know!! I don't have a surgery date yet... but as soon as I get one... I'll post it!! Thank you to all of you who post all the helpful information on how to get approved. SSOOOOO Sorry it's been so long... it really seems like its been forever since I've posted. Well lots has changed since my last post... The company that I was working for back then has since packed up and moved away. Yep... they layed us all off and moved on. Not all bad though... they paid for me to go back to school and I am currently enrolled in my very last semester for my Associates Degree in Business Administration. Plus... with the lay off... came the daunting task of looking for another job. Well... I found great job that has great insurance... YES THE SURGERY IS A COVERED EXPENSE IF YOU CAN PROVE MEDICAL NECESSITY!!! Hello, can't we all prove that!! Well since my last attempt at this whole approval thing... the insurance company has since started to require you to try medically supervised diets (like we've not done this before). I have conformed though and I went on the supervised diet. I needed the diet to be within the last year anyway. I'm now in my last month of the diet... I have lost almost 20 pounds and I go to see the surgeon for my consult on Aug. 24th. My surgeon is Dr. Steven Katsis out of Tulsa. I was gonna see Dr. Gorospe... but he is not in network for me and Katsis is. Anyway... please pray for me!!! I have been praying everyday that this is the time that it works. I have hit soooo many road blocks and this time it's different. I hope this means that it's my turn!!! I'll keep posting as to the updates and status... Love you guys tons..

Sorry it has been so long since my last post. I have been a busy woman. I have been doing the Weight Watchers diet and have lost 25 lbs. so far on it. It's been a long hard road so far but none the less... I'm doing it.
I still haven't heard anything from our insurance at work. I know a change is due though so I'm praying that the change to come will include this surgery. It's really funny cause a couple of years ago when I started looking into having this done... a couple of my friends thought that I was NUTS. Well guess what... those same friends have since had this damned sugery and are much healthier now because of it. And yes... I am soooooo stinking jealous I can't hardly stand it. Don't get me wrong... I am very happy for them and their new skinny bodies, with their new happy healthly little selves... LOL. Just kidding !! I really am VERY excited for them I just can't help being envious. They are beautiful and I can't wait to be in the same boat as them. I know my time is coming... I feel like this is meant to be for me so I will wait... and wait... and ... just kidding. LOL... I love you guys and am sooo happy to have such a great support family. AMOS !!! You are all sooooo awesome !!

Just wanted to pop in and say HI. Today is the day after Valentines Day. I still have not heard ANYTHING about our insurance changing at work. Everyone is saying that it is going to soon but noone is saying anything else. Hopefully it will cover the sugery when it does change. My friend John Hinds had the surgery 3 weeks ago. I am so happy for him but at the same time I am soooo damned jealous. He went for his 3 week check up and learned that he has lost 40 lbs. I think that is soooo awesome. My day will come soon enough. Well... not soon enough for me... but it will come.
The hubby and I have decided that we will borrow from out 401K's when they get big enough to borrow that kind of money from if my insurance hasn't come around by then.
I love that man... anyway.. enough for now...

HI Ya'll !!! I learned how to update to my new profile !!! I'm so excited... I have been missing this. Well just to update the profile... The Voc. Rehab was a flop. For the main reason I say that - The guy told me that they ABSOLUTELY DO NOT pay for surguries for the obese. And he told me that I wasn't heavy enough anyway. I laughed and told him that I am 140 lbs over my ideal weight according the "Medical" standards. He told me that they don't go by "Medical" standards. They have their own set of rules and guidelines and that I would have to put on another 75 lbs to even hit the minimum amount for that. He said that even when I do hit the minimum... all they will do is help to educate on obesity and safer ways to eat. HA! What a joke!! I know all about being obese and I've heard all my life about eating healthier... I told him that I HONEST TO GOD don't eat McDonald's everyday all day. I am obese for LOTS of reasons. Not because of french fries and TV remotes. He just said that he was sorry and that they couldn't help me.
So I have just decided to wait out my insurance. I am told that the company I work for changes insurance about every 2 years. Well it's almost 2 years... I figure Congress will force these insurance companies to cover this surgery sooner or later anyway. So I'll just wait them out.
Anyway... I love this website and EVERYONE here...

Okay... Today was a good day. Have officially made my mind up to pursue the Vocational Rehab avenue. Today I checked the message board and there was a lady from IN that posted almost the same message as me about Voc Rehab. She was asking if anyone had ever heard of them helping to pay for the surgery. I forwarded the email that I received about this. Hope it helps her. I am going to make an appointment one day ext week to go and see them at the Voc. Rehab office. Wish me luck.

I have decided today to start posting my trials and tribulations on here. It seems to help everyone to post the good and the bad comings of the days and weeks. So I'm going to try this myself.
I have also decided to go to my local Vocational Rehab office and look into that to see if I can get some help with the surgery. I also got an email today from Tommie Wilkins today telling me to also check with the Americans with Disabilities Act here in Oklahoma. So I'm gonna do that too. I hope there is a provision somewhere that will give me some help.
I'll keep everyone posted on the outcome.
I am 34 yrs. old and work for a company that is self-insured. This surgery is specifically listed as an exclusion. I will not give up! Dr. Grosepe will do the surgery until you are 55 yrs old. I still have 21 yrs to go.
