31/2 months out
Apr 15, 2009
This week I had my 3 months follow up. I am 10 pounds ahead of my set goal. This morning I have lost 61 pounds. I can not believe how much better I feel. I am now doing step aerobics with the wii fit. I can keep up with my family walking in the mall. In the past I was always lagging behind. I am getting into size 16 pants. I started in size 22 - 24 pants. Easter was this past Sunday. I was able to taste several things along with my turkey for dinner. Of course I pasted on the dessert. Everything is going wonderful.

Feb 25, 2009
Today I am 8 wks and 2 days out. I have lost 38 pounds. I'm feeling so much better. This is the best decision I could have made about weight lost. I have my energy back and starting feel like my old self again (minus 38 pounds). I have started exercising on the encumbent bike. I also use the treadmill to mix it up.

2 wks and 6 days out
Jan 17, 2009
I finally returned to work on Friday (2 wks and 4 days out). I had to go in late because I needed to drop off a culture sample at Harbor View. I have had a problem with diarrhea since Jan. 3rd. I was told it might be the whey protein drinks. So I stopped taking all protein drinks for 1 1/2 days. It stopped 1 day and returned. Long story short... Dr. Adams called me yesterday and told me I got "C-Diff" when in the hospital. I'm now taking a liquid antibotic which is absolutely awful. I have to take it 3 times a day for 10 days. But if this is what it takes to get ride of it, then of course I'm going to follow the Doc's orders. At least I now know what has been causing the diarrhea and look forward to it stopping.
On a more positive note... I was able to walk a whole 30 minutes on the treadmill Thursday. I started walking 10 minutes/ 3 times a day. Next, I worked up to 15 minutes/ 2 times a day. Then, finally I made it to 30 minutes/ once a day. I 've lost 20 pounds so far! I just hope after I stop going to the bathroom so much I can continue to lose like I'm suppose to. Dr. Adams told me at my next appointment with him on March 30th, I should be about 185 pounds. That will be 40 pounds in 3 months. It sure seems like alot to me, but he is the Doctor, so he must know what he's talking about. I can't wait to see how I do. I'll just keep doing what I'm suppose to and watch and see.

I was finally able to have my surgery on Dec. 29, 2008.

I had to reschedule my surgery to Dec. 29, 2008. It has now been 1 wk and 2 days. Yesterday, I went to my 1st follow-up appointment. I've already lost 10 pounds!!! I'm so excited to be able to say I am "Post Op" Surgery! The first couple of days were tough, but I can already see a difference in how I feel and being able to tolerate food easier. My husband had to fly out this morning on a business trip for 2 1/2 wks. I have an 11 yrs. old who can help with any heavy lifting while he is gone. I hope to be going back to work next week. Although, I made be working half days at first. It depends on how much the pain in my stomach subsides and if I can stand anything touching my stomach yet.
Over all, I am doing well and am so excited that I made the decision to do this.
