So sorry to hear about your new surgery, Terri. I know how bad you didn't want to have an open incision. I am really sorry. At least you found out what was going on before you headed home. The complications are something that are out of our control. I am in the Hills this weekend. I suppose you don't know how long you will be in the hospital. I'll call when I get home on Monday. I have my laptop here with me, but obviously you haven't connection to the internet. Take care, you and your family are in my prayers. Keep me posted, sheila

Terri, Just wanted to send along a little extra hug and prayers for you and your family. Sounds like they can be used. Hope you will do fine and have a very speedy and un-eventful recovery. Keep the faith!

Terri's Husband Report; Bad news this morning, She was getting warm last night and didnt get a good nite sleep. In the morn she was very sick.Dr. obrien came in and got some lab work done. Her white count was up(this indicates infection) I got the call they where going back in to have a look around, get there Quick! I got there a bit to late, she was already back in surgery. Dr.Obrien came in after the 2nd operation to talk. Some how a small bowel was torn just enough to leak and took 1 small stitch to repair. The bowels do have to be moved for the operation buy tools so the stomach can be worked on. It doesnt take much to nick the bowel, they are usally pretty tough I always thought He did have to go in with both hands so terri will have a zipper(scar) on her tummy,(she really didnt want that)I thought great place for a tatoo....Getting a nick or tear in the bowel is something that can happen and something you chance when you do any abdominal surgery. Anyhow, she is doing fine again and feeling much better now.It will be a few more days before she comes home so I will be keeping up the updates. And trying to keep the house clean!!! Again from the bottom of our hearts, we both thank you for your support!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Gary

Hello;I am Terri's husband and angel and have my report. She had her surgery this morn with Dr. Obrien. The crew at Sioux Valley Hospital were great.(I think it would be worth the trip across country,to have surgery here) She got a print-out from the ObesityHelp.com from Dr Obrien on his pre surg, check up. We were both moved by this last "It's going to be ok!"from fellow friends that are going to or have been through this. A nurse that was in on the procedure had the same thing done talked to Terri also. She looked great and was a great inspiration that this is a good thing about to happen. She was really tired this morning (because she cleaned house till 12:00 at night)she was to tired to really worry to much about the big change that was to come. She had the laproscopy procedure done, took 1 1/2 hours. She was so worried it would be an open procedure. Dr Obrien said all went really well. She is doing fine tonight and is really grogy from the anestheisa.(I think a good rest before a surgery is best, dont clean house, worry about that later!!)She is ok and feeling fine. I wish to thank everybody for the support and help to make terri feel so good about her self. This a Valentines's day we will remember for sure!!! Thanks everybody again! Gary
