I am supposed to begin my liquid diet on December 8th but I've decided to go ahead and get started on Monday the 6th. Have I lost my mind??? I think I'm just ready to accept my new lifestyle and NOT let food be such an important part of my day . Wish me luck....I know this will be difficult....but I'M READY!!!!

The beginning...

It took me years to finally get the courage to admit that I needed this surgery. I've been overweight since college and steadily just kept growing. Yes...I tried diets here and there...weight watchers, phen-fen, metabolife...but always gained the pounds back. I had my son when I was 26 and was already on high blood pressure meds at that time. Both of my parents are diabetic and when my doc was finally straight with me...looked me in the eye and said "You know we're going to be going down that same road in four to five years"...reality finally set in. I so wanted to be successful on my own and started eating better and exercising but just felt I would never get to where I want to be....so...here I am!
My friends and family have been extremely supportive of my decision to get the sleeve. I need to get my health back!!! My surgery is scheduled for December 15th with Dr. Wade Barker. I am excited about this journey and can't wait to get a new wardrobe that is not from the plus department!
