GUESS WHO'S BIZZACK!!!!

April 18, 2008

Well ladies and gents ... I have been missing in action  for several months. I will admit that I was discouraged when I couldnt get my surgery right away. Blue Cross Blue Shield required me to do a six month nutrition program. My program concluded April 1st. My paperwork  was submitted the next day and I got an approval a under two weeks later.

My surgery date is  May 27th 2008.  One day before my 33rd birthday!!!!

I'll keep you posted until next time.

ok wait!!!

I cannot believe it took me this long to figure out where I start my posts.

Ok for those who dont know my name is Tawanda and I'm a 31 year old carb craving diva in desperate need a lifestyle change.

Before I update what's  I want to take this time to thank each and every last person who shared there stories on this site. You are a blessing to me. I have been a fan of this site going on five years.

I've applied for GBS twice in the last five years and was denied both times due to my previous insurance providers not having covered bariatric surgery. As of March 1,2007 I am pleased to say that I have a new insurance provider that covers GBS. I have my first support group meeting on April 11th at 6:30 pm after which I will schedule my first appointment with Dr. Amir Moazzez and his staff. I'm so happy that the door has finally opened for me.

I'm going to keep you all updating on my status and my journey. God Bless each one of my Obesity Help family......until next time......Tawanda :0)

Hi fam.............I hope all is well. I just wanted to check in and say that I hope everyone is doing well and I want to let you all know that you are continuously in my prayers. Even though I have never met any of you personally, I feel like I share a bond with you.  I thank God for this site and everyone for your stories.

I spoke with Dr Moazzez's assistant today and scheduled  my first appointment with him as well as his team for April 25th. I was informed at this time they will go over the surgery I have chosen which is Laprascopic Roux-En-Y, and they will submit my papers to my insurance company for approval.  I'm sure what the difference between distal and proximal is but I assume he will pick between the two.I've already claimed my approval and I'm not the least bit worried that i will be denied. Whelp that's all for now. God Bless You All..........hugs .............Tawanda :0)

OK.........I'm going to cry !!!

I went to my appointment today and was soooooo excited then I was informed that I have to do a 6 month program (supervised diet) :0(..............I just knew  I would be able to have my surgery in June.  Dr Moazzez  is the nicest doctor ive ever met!!

Prayer for Patience ~. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” —Galatians 6:9 ...

God, teach me to be patient...

Teach me to go slow...

Teach me how to "wait on you"

When my way I do not know...

Teach me sweet forbearance

When things do not go right

So I remain unruffled

When others grow uptight...

Teach me how to quiet

My racing, rising heart

So I may hear the answer

You are trying to impart...

Teach me to let go, dear God,

And pray undisturbed until

My heart is filled with inner peace

And I learn to know your will!

"Be still and know that I am God."

Psalms 46:10
