Getting it together!

Mar 14, 2009

I haven't been here in awhile too disgusted with myself! Gained back weight got back up to 204 but think I finally got it together and am back down to 195. Emotional eating my biggest downfall!!!!

Back to work!

Jul 29, 2008

Well I saw the Dr today and he released me to go back to work Aug 4th. I have to admit I'm glad I was really getting bored at home. I am at 205lbs which is a total of 27 since beginning the preop liquid diet. After reading other profiles I sometimes feel like it is not enough but I will just keep on and hope the numbers keep dropping. School starts Aug 18th so between that and work hopefully I will be to busy to dwell on it as much. Now if I could just stay off the scale ...........LOL

G-tube out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jul 15, 2008

Well just got home from the g-tube being removed how HORRIBLE!!!! Thank God it's out! Dr. Debord had a surgery resident take it out and it hurt like hell and sprayed got on my new shirt :( So Dr. Debord kinda loudly said to her you didn't deflate the bulb she's like yes I did I'm laying there like who cares this crap hurt. So I go to make my next appt and my stomach felt really warm I look down and the gauze over my site was draining so much it went thru my shirt and onto my shorts the resident ran and plopped a ton more gauze on my stomach. Hopefully this will stop soon. They said it should within 12-24 hrs. Anyway no more hardware YEAH! This was the worst part of the whole thing. Happy skies from here on out!

1st post op dr appt

Jul 09, 2008

7-9-08 Well I had my first post op appt yesterday and got my staples and jp drain out! Yeah! Now I can't wait for this G-tube to come out it hurts sooo bad but I have an appt for next Tuesday to have it removed thank God! By the dr scale I have only lost 13lbs so I'm a little bummed. I am going to stop weighing constantly cause it is affecting my spirits. I am going to concentrate on vitamins, protein intake and exercise. I am currently doing 10 min a day on the treadmill. There was some excellent news today however, my college called and said someone dropped the RN  program and I was next on the list so I get to do the RN program instead of LPN which is what I wanted to begin with so there is a huge blessing!!!!! I'll keep ya posted.

Happy 4th of July

Jul 04, 2008

Well today was my first really hard day mentally. Watching everyone eat barbeque and whatnot sucked, especially as I sat and ate my yogurt :( On a brighter note I weighed again this morning (I know I should quit that) and I am down to 214. Yeah! Only 12lbs from my first goal. I finally found a pretty good tasting way to get my protein too and not too expensive. I am using vanilla Body Fortress Whey Protein with Silk soy milk (vanilla as well) tastes just like a shake. I have been lactose intolerant from my first surgery and I have really missed milk. I never tried soy cause I thought is would be nasty but I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks to OH cause that is what made me give it whirl. So now I can get my protein in which was my biggest problem!!! I'll keep ya posted.

6 Days Out

Jul 01, 2008

Well here I am 6 days post revision and am doing really well. The only thing that sucks is this stupid G tube and JP drain. I did not have either one the first time. I see my doctor a week from today I hope he takes the staples, and both tubes out but could I possibly be that lucky LOL! I am doing this blog to help keep myself focused, knowing others can see this and maybe help me along. I don't have many family and friends and sometimes I fell like they think oh here's this again like I'll fail. I know my doctor acted like that what support !!!  I'm gonna show him. Not like his program was lacking or anything 8 years ago oh that's right there wasn't one hmmmmmmmmmm! I'll keep ya posted.
