I've lost 100 lbs!

Sep 26, 2008

This is my long over due post. Oh my god words can't explain how wonderful it feels to get on that scale and see numbers that aren't so scary to look at. I weigh less than the men in my house for the first time in a long time. My boyfriend has never seen me at this size. I'm in a size 14 but I think its because I'm still so afraid to by a smaller size. Today I'm going shopping and I'll try on the smaller size jeans and see how they look.  People at work are telling me that I'm an inspiration and want my doctors info. My mom even has an appointment to get her journey started. I'm so excited to see the future possiblites.

Feeling Great!

Apr 11, 2008

I was beginning to have self doubt about my decision to have wls because about the second almost third week I had pain in my stomach around the umbilical entry that was killing me. I would wake up fine but as the day progressed I felt so much pain I couldn't do much but lay down. But I am happy to report that I feel great like Tony the tiger would say. My pain is faint if any at all I don't feel pain to button up my pants or to sit up right. I can put on my own shoes and actually tie them. I've been walking alot more lately because the discomfort is basically gone. My one month surgeiversary is on Sunday, April 13th. I made it through my first month, what an accomplishment. On Monday, 4/14 I'm going in to meet with the dietatian to follow up on my post op diet. I don't think she'll be happy to hear that the protein is hard to get in. I'm trying really I am. I get plenty of water, still looking for protein that tastes good. If I find one I'll post to let you all know. Until then take care and god bless, Peace.

I'm HOME! Thank god all went well.

Hello everyone,

I had my surgery on Thursday, 3/13 and all went wonderful. I don't remember much after the IV was put in however prior to that process it was quick and easy. The staff at the hospital were great. They brought me and my family into a seperate room so that I could prepare for my surgery which was earlier than originally expected since my doctors previous patients surgery also went so well. I'm in a little bit of pain so please don't fool yourself into thinking its a painless process but it is truly gas that they fill into your stomach that once you begin to release alot of pressure in your stomach is relieved. I can't stress however how great it was to have the support to family and friends and most importantly the staff from both the hospital and the ABC clinic they came to visit me and check on my status. I was called a CHAMP because I was up and walking the halls I didn't feel like a CHAMP I just didn't want clots to form in my legs which would cause further issues that could be avoided.  I'll post again once I'm feeling 100% to let you all know my experience in full. Thank you for all your well wishes. Stay healthy and GOD BLESS.

Tomorrow is my big day!

Mar 12, 2008

First off I have been blessed to have such support around me. GOD is good and he is with me always. But I have been also blessed with a great family my mom is the best she always supports my decisions even if she doesn't always agree with them. She is truly my back bone. I have two handsome sons that I live and breathe for they are my inspiration and give me life and energy. I have a boyfriend that lets me take the lead when I need to. I have friends that although they are crazy because thats just how we roll, support me and are looking forward to hanging out this Summer. I have a boss and co-workers that are wonderful and so full of encouragement. And last but not least the team from the ABC, in Brooklyn, NY words can't express how happy I am to have found them. They are amazing, supportive and loving. I also want to thank all those that have sent me messages via this site with well wishes I hope to be a major supporter of all the original members as well as future members to come. All of these ANGELS sent to me by GOD are my blessings.  Thank you and see you on the losing side. GOD BLESS.

I begin my full liquid diet!

Mar 06, 2008

God is good he has brought me to this point thus far and I thank him for all of his blessings. Today I officially begin my full liquid diet. It really doesn't seem as painful as I thought. It will consist of a smoothie in the morning thank god I love smoothies and a homemade vegetable soup for lunch with chicken in it for added protein that will be pureed of course and a VHP meal replacement and some more soup before bed. Not too bad, I've heard of worse.

After my Dietian and I finished up I couldn't keep the huge smile off my face it was crazy, you know those smiles that hurt your cheeks to have but you can't help but have one, that was me today, then the Nurse Practioner told me that I just brought them for life and that they will be here to support me forever and that brought on the tears but they weren't tears from sadness they her HAPPY TEARS! I'm so very happy that I've made a decision to take control of my life and make it a better one for me.  I am also very happy to have chosen to go with ABC the staff is just the best, always have a beautiful smile on their face and supportive words to offer. I love them very much already. I also love all of the possibilies that I'm creating for myself in the future.

FYI I'm down 7 more pounds for a total weightloss of 13 pounds and as you all know my surgery is 3/13 seems to be my new lucky number. Until next episode, stay healthy and GOD BLESS!

I'VE BEEN APPROVED!

Mar 03, 2008

I NEVER THOUGHT THAT THOSE WORDS WOULD COME TO MEAN SO MUCH TO ME BUT THEY DO. I FEEL BLESSED TO HAVE HAD SUCH A WONDERFUL TEAM OF INDIVIDUALS SUCH AS THE TEAM AT ABC.  THEY TOOK CARE OF EVERYTHING ALL I HAD TO DO WAS MAKE MY APPOINTMENTS AND KEEP THEM. I AM SO EXCITED I CAN BARELY CONTAIN MY EMOTIONS. I HAVE FAITH THAT I WILL COME OUT OF THIS JOURNEY A STRONGER WOMAN THAN I EVER THOUGHT I WAS.  GOD IS GOOD! THANK YOU GOD FOR GIVING ME A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE.

My surgery date is approaching!

Mar 01, 2008

On Friday, 2/29/08 I saw Dr. Chenna Reddy who is my PCP to get my clearance from him. I got it, (THANK GOD) next step is to hear if my insurance has approved my surgery I'll know that on Monday, 3/4/08. I'm so excited trying to maintain positive thoughts through out this process which has been easy, thanks to the staff of ABC (Advanced Baratric Care) they are simply the best.  I will start my pre-op diet on Friday, 3/7/08. I've warned the people at work and at home that I may be a little bit cranky  but to remind me that this is what I wanted and its just the first step to the rest of my NEW LIFE. I feel so blessed.
