Congratulations on your upcoming surgery, Tabitha! I had my WLS exactly one year before yours, on May 30, 2002. I had no complications and it was the best decision I ever made for my health. May you enjoy a swift and smooth recovery, good results, and wonderful health. Good luck!

Tabitha: I didn't do as well as some following surgery and I believe the reasons were: my age (I'm 50 and pretty sedentary); my comorbidities (I had a number of medical conditions; my smoking (which I have now stopped). I hope you do well, just keep moving after the surgery. I did have a lot of pain initially but think I would have done better if I could have moved more (was restricted due to pneumonia and congestive heart failure). Good luck to you, Tabitha, blessings for an uneventful surgery and recovery. Cathy 298/269/150

Hi Tabitha, I'm 14wks post-op, open rny; the pain wasn't has bad as I expected, first couple days were rough but went back to work within 3wks. I was just really tired when I got home, but within a week or two it was ok. The important thing is getting enough water & protein. Dr's nutritionist gave us sample menu's as a base guideline. It gets easier every day. I also check the library when I have a particular concern, and I have always found an answer. Good Luck! I am sure that you will have an uneventful surgery and speedy recovery. I will keep you in my thoughts and my prayers. Carole
