Hello
,
My name is Sara and my weight loss journey began in Sept 2007. Actually that was when I officially decided to have the gastric bypass surgery. The decision, for me, was very easy, the hard part was convincing my husband that it was the right thing to do. You see, we had been trying to conceive for almost 2 years before my surgery. One tubal pregnancy
and a trip to a fertility specialist later we were informed that my weight was most likely the culprit. That was all the convincing I needed. My husband, on the other hand, wanted to try fertility treatments. I pushed for the gastric bypass instead. My reasoning is that, hopefully, after I loose my weight we will be able to get pregnant without any treatments. So, after 6 months of fighting with the insurance company
and a couple of months on the surgery waiting list, I had my gastric bypass on 4-30-08
, when I was at my heaviest weight ever 226lbs.
I am almost 12 weeks out and I have lost 51lbs so far
! The changes in my body and energy are unbelievable! I can do so many things now, that I couldn't do before! My ultimate goal is to loose 100lbs, so I have 49lbs to go.
