Ok its been awhile.I am now over a year post -op and I have lost over 175 pounds. The weight loss is slowing down,But it is steady.I still continue to have some issues with food and gettin all my protein in.My hormones are way out of whack, but hope to soon get that under control.I Love how this surgery has changed my life and can hardly wait to get to my goal weight, and then have the plastic surgery!! This is still a work in progress

Almost 4 months

Sep 18, 2008

Here I am at just about the 4month mark from my surgery. I am down 63 pounds since the surgery but over 113 since August of last year.I was lucky enough that the program the nutrionist put me on prior to surgery worked so well for me. I was not sure it would, but determination and CHANGES made all the difference in the world! I did not believe I could lose that much weight just from making small changes .The advice she gave me has armed me with great tips for the rest of my life,as far as food choices and beverages- now I know better!
The nausea has subsided a great deal ,it surfaces maybe once or twice a week -instead of daily. I am able to increase my walking everyday, got a pedometer and next month am joining  a gym after my free 2 week pass expires.Tonight I attended my first WLS support group,I wish I had gone sooner. Such great people, success stories, tips and a feeling of belonging!I plan on making more meetings and hoping to do the walk from obesity !!!

6 weeks

Jul 03, 2008

I just reached my 6 week mark from surgery. So far 41 pounds down!! I started exercising in the pool daily, what a great way to work out- takes all the pressure of your joints.I had to abandon the walking as much because i was getting dizzy ,turns out i am dehydrated-i have to make sure to increase my fluid intake. I am still having some issues with food intolerances and vomitting- but overall i am feeling great and my clothes really do not fit me anymore. I am still on cloud 9 and excited to see the new me starting to emerge.I started out a size 30/32 and now i can fit in a 22/24 and that fits very loose !!

week 2

Jun 04, 2008

Here I am at my 2 week mark.I have lost 21 pounds as of today. I started out the week following surgery with alot of nausea, and had my bouts of intolerances with some of the soups, eggs and crystal light of all things- but it is all worth it.
I am learning everyday how to adjust to the new me and what I can tolerate. I am glad to be out of work during this healing/learning/adjusting period of this whole thing.I have not had to take any of the pain meds they sent me home with and now I am 5 days free of the Anti- Nausea pills. I have more energy everyday, and find I can walk a little bit more distance everyday. The fatigue and nausea  held me back the first week and a half from really walking or exercising as much as I should. Now I look forward to making up for lost time. I also look forward now to standing on that scale- something I NEVER imagined would give me pleasure!!
