After a year of jumping through hoops for my insurance I am Finally APPROVED !!!!
When they called I started crying. I was so happy.  Then the last few days I have found myself crying then laughing. I am so dumb! I am wondering Am I happy? Am I sad? Do I want this? What is wrong? I think I am excited for Approval. Scared of the New Journey and just plain shocked its finally here.
Meet with the Doctor (tomorrow) Aug 2nd.
Cant wait...
I have also changed my plan from Lap Band to Gastric Bypass. Personal choice I guess. I am ready for it.

I was so pumped and ready once I got my doctors approval. She submitted to insurance and they denied me.. Havent received in the mail, but I will appeal and do what they want. I hope this doesnt delay me much longer. I have been working on this for awhile, and I am so ready now!

Well had my last Primary Doctor Appointment today. She has now referred me to the surgery. Up to a week (she says) for approval from insurance!  Its not about what you know... Its all about who you know!  Its so sad that the world revolves this way. I will be calling the Referral Office Monday I am sure. I can't wait for anything. Its been a long journey here, but anything I set my mind to I can do. So I know this is only one more part of my journey.

Well it looks as though I am postponed until next year.... I am 4 months pregnant and just found out yesterday! WTF... Sorry!  I was just so looking forward to this, but I guess God had another plan for me.  
 Baby #6 for me.... 

Well had my doctors appointment and everything was pretty routine until the end.  I have researched so much that I could have instructed him.
The "insurance" lady at the front tells the doctor she needs to see me before I leave.  Originally they told me my insurance has some exclusions and they would cover a portion and my copay would be $5000. I was ok with that.  I find out this was because the doc was not a provider for my insurance.  So they would pay for everything but his fee.  The "insurance" lady now tells me they submitted 5 weeks ago to be a provider for my insurance and if I wait 4-6 more weeks I will only have to pay $200. total. She also said that my insurance was the easiest one to get approval on.  It would be immediate with a BMI over 40. No 6 month diet crap or anything....  So now I just wait for her phone call they are approved to get the referral from my PCP. (Which is same day.) Wow this seems to good to be true.  I have heard a lot of horror stories about insurance.I guess we'll see! 

I can't wait! Seems silly, but I want to get this ball rollin. I am self pay so no need to wait for that insurance approval. 

Update:  What do I know?  Self Pay, exclusions, copays ??? WTF  ~ See new post 7/17/07
