Waiting for FIRST Appointment with Surgeon

......and so the wait begins.
All of the beginning paperwork is at the Surgeon's office, I am waiting to hear about when I might get an appointment scheduled............

"Informational" Meeting

My husband went with me to the "Informational Meeting".
My husband is also considering it, after doing some research we found out that his insurance (different then mine) doesn't cover it - but after speaking with the office manager his insurance JUST MIGHT cover it.
So - after listening to our options - we BOTH filled out the paperwork.
I am 100% sure I want to do it, no doubts at all.
My husband wants to do it, but he's have a weird feeling ....... as if he's taking the 'easy' way out.
We spent a lot of the afternoon discussing that - he said logically I understand that it's a great thing, I just feel like I am taking the easy way out - however he said getting rid of all of this extra weight will benefit me in the long run. Plus he does have some co-morbides that his insurance just might pay for it and if not, he'll switch to my insurance in March, 2008.
During the meeting they gave statistics on Obesity in American - man, it's scary. 1/3 of American's are Obese. WOW
So now we wait to be called, I am assuming next week to schedule our appointment.
I really liked the surgeon that spoke today so I choose her, however there are several doctors to choose from a previous co-worker had LapBand done with this practice and I was able to follow her through her first 6 months (this was almost 2 years ago) so I feel VERY comfortable with them.

OK - so it's offical as of TODAY, Tuesday., Oct 9th, I am offically starting the process for LAPBAND!
After 6 years of 'thinking' it over and researching it - I'm doing it! I have my first appointment/consult on Saturday 10/13/2007 and I am sooooo ready for it, no hesitations, I am doing it - Lord Willing of course, but that said, I am ready for a change.
