7/11/06 In just two short weeks I will be on the other side. I have a pair of jeans from years ago. I am hoping that I will be wearing them this time next year. I have started to practice my sipping in hopes that it will make it easier in the hospital to sip my water and get it down when I am supposed to. My daughter will be going to the Jr. Olympics on the day I get out of the hospital. What a big day that will be.
7/20/06 It will not be long now and I will be an official Looser!! I can hardly wait. I am so thankful to God that he allowed me this opportunity. I truely believe that without him this would have never happened for me.
7/25/06 The big day is here. Things went very fast onece I got to the hospital. Got there at 8 am and by 1 pm I was in my room. I did not do a whole heck of alot. But did get up a couple of times.
7/26/06 Was working on my fulids, think I was an over achiever. I ended up in quite a bit of tummy pain. It was hard as a rock. Had to get a cat scan, turned out no leaks, Praise the Lord. But had to get up and get moving so got the good old suppository. Ye Haa. That seemed to get thingsw moving quite a bit. Things got better from that point on.
7/28/06 Got up and moving much more today, not too much on the liquids though. Felt much, much better. Feeling like progress is going to happen now. I do want to mention that when you start getting rid of your gas.... Warning..... It might not be just gas :(
7/29/06 Got to go home today. Working on those liquids. Have to put some in the G-tube but I think I will be able to get most of them down. Have not had a lot of pain meds except for Wed, 26th. Did have a quick shot for the ride home by way of a chinese restraunt for some sweet and sour soup to go. Something with flavor and zing. Yum.
7/30/06 I have to let you know my daughter came in 9th in the triaholon at the Jr. Olympics. AWESOME!!! I am very proud of her!!
8/1/06 One week today. Things seem to be going well. Not too much of a problem getting the fluids in. Found out that I can have sugar free fudgesicles. Yum.. I sure will be glad when the tubes come out!!!
8/11/06 AWESOME Anoying tubes are GONE FOREVER!! That was a great moment. If anyone says it dosent hurt that much, then ask them what drugs they took first. None is really not a good option. Also good news is that I am down 15. Yea. Back to the Dr on the 17th, so hopefully be down some more.
8/17/06 Had a nice visit with the Dr. Found out that all the pai I was experiencing on Wed after surgery was a kink in my small instestine. Happens very rarely. It felt like things were not moving anywhere. The were not and it HURTS> Now I have an idea what a stricture is and I can tell you. I never want to experience it. So not FUN AT ALL!!. Since I just went to the Dr. last week I only lost a few lbs, but Loosing is Good. Better than Not. He said you know you will loose the weight. I was like, you are joking right, It never happens, But I think this time it really will. And by the look on his face I will. WOW
8/24/6 In my 4th week when I went to the Dr I was down 18. This weenend we are getting a scale so I might be able to keep track. Doing the pureed thing. DOnt really care for it at all. When I went to the dr. last week he said I need to up my carbs. So I have been trying to work on that. It is really hard for me to get in all the protein and the liquid I need each day. One good thing is my hair is growing and not falling out and my nails are harder so they are not breaking like they used to.
9/11/06 First of all I want to say my heart goes out to all the families and friends of those affected 5 years ago.
Well I cant tell you how important it is to get your water down everyday. I have experienced a case of constipation that lasted for 3 days. It really was a drag. I tried everything, but what seemed to do the trick was milk of mag. So if it ever happens again, its MoM for me first. I have lost about 27 lbs now.
9/25/06 Not a lot of new to report. I did have a week of no loosing, but when the scale started to move again I was very happy.
10/9/06 Things are going well. No problems with anything lately.
10/31/06 Just over 3 months, and ALMOST TO ONDERLAND!! I am loving being the incredible shrinking woman. How exciting to look better almost every day.
11/3/06 Looks like I am on one of those weekly stalls. Scale has not moved much in the last couple of days. The good news is it gives my skin a chance to catch up with the rest of me. I have lost 49 lbs now.
