Finally seeing results
Aug 27, 2009
I am 4 1/2 months out of Gastric Sleeve surgery and I've lost 78 1/2 lbs. I'm looking and feeling great and would have this surgery again tomorrow. I had a few setbacks but we're dealing with them. I'm suffering from very frequent heartburn and for the past 3-4 weeks, I keep vomiting. I can drink a sip of water and eat nothing and I vomit. I can take one bite of yogurt or cheese and I vomit. So I went this morning for an Upper GI series to see if I have a twist or knot in my sleeve. I should know something tomorrow and they will go in with a scope and fix it.

The day has finally come...
Apr 18, 2009
April 16, 2009 is the start of my new life. I had Gastric Sleeve surgery today. I will admit, it was much more painful than I thought it would be. The gas pains are horrible! I had my surgery at Southern Surgical Hospital in Slidell, LA. The staff at the hospital were awesome. Very comforting, sympathetic and there for every need. My surgeon was Dr. James Redman. He was awesome! I would let him do any kind of surgery on me. He has the most awesome bedside manner. I spent my first night in the hospital with a little bit of complications. I started getting fluid on my lungs during the middle of the night so I had Respiratory coming in to do breathing treatments on me and was given Lasix to get some of the fluid off. I was wheezing terribly. Didn't get too much sleep the first night because of the pain. I think I cried all night...LOL!
