Eventually, the hopelessness brought about by my consistent failure to achieve weight loss cracked through my perfectionism and pride, allowing me to consider the possibility of surgical weight loss as a last resort in my lifelong battle against weight.
The path to this decision has been long and difficult, but now the moment is at hand. My RNY is scheduled for December 17, 2008.
