Just at the start of my Journey. In Nov. 06 I saw my surgeon about getting a lap band.....my insurance denied me and I started the appeal process. During that time I began to question if I had made the right choice and made another appt. with the surgeon to discuss the RNY.
He concurred that with my weight loss goals that would be a better choice. So my letters and my PA's letter went off to the insurance company and this time they approved the procedure (March of 07 now)
I've had the first of my required classes this past week and have more scheduled for the coming weeks. The hospitals bariatric program requires attendance both before and after surgery. I'm kind of on an emotional roller coaster at this point-- but overall feel confident in my decision--I have several significant health issues that my weight further complicates. I do counseling at a Hospice and am not yet ready to become a client there! Thanks in advance for all the great support I know I will get here at OH.
