ONE YEAR!!!
Jul 28, 2013
so July 26,2013 was my one year surgerverisy. i had my one year follow up and everything was good. i was concerned i was eating to much and was right i can eat way more than im suppose to.. so going back to measuring just one cup of food at a time.. i was prob eating a cup and half heck i could eat a cup of fruit alone in one sitting or 3/4 of a 6 inch sub.. anyway as for tests.. i have low b12, low vit d, and low Hemoglobin and will have to go back on prevacid permanently. im switching to giving myself b12 shots as its cheaper than pills and upping my vit d to two a day... she also said that i should be upping my protein to 80g protein a day instead of 64g. she said im too active at work and thats why im always hungry. my belly growls all the time. so she wants me to up the protein so im not feeling hungry.. but all in all ive been maintaining for 6 months now at 126-129lbs from my 250lbs when i started all this. So thats around a s
So thats around a 124lbs loss since i started the process in 2010. I will post pics when i get a chance some clothed and some of my normal update ones.

Sigh the wait continues..
Dec 30, 2011
So its been a while since i posted. Feeling a little depressed lately. Overall its been a pretty unlucky bad year for me. I had my orientation in April.. and then finally got my first apts with the nut, nurse, and sw. passed the sw on the first apt.. went back and had my second apts with the nut and nurse and got the go ahead for the nutrition class and to meet a surgeon, then surgery.. my last apt when i got the go ahead was Oct 4/2011... since then i have been waiting for the phone call.. this Feb 2012 will be my Two year wait. it makes me a little sad and a bit angry that some other centers from start to finish have surgery in less than a year.. some I've seen 6 months.. It sucks that Guelph is such a long wait or that they seem to pass you by a lot. It's very discouraging, thinking that it will never happen. I've managed to drop some weight gone from 245lbs almost two years ago to about 215lbs but my goal for my height will be around the 130lbs mark..
but still playing the waiting game i guess ..

Waiting continues
Sep 14, 2010
so a lot has happened since may. I got started on metformin, had horrible side effects. was in the washroom 17-20 times a day just for a BM. so i stopped it, haven't told my doc yet. but anyway so Hamilton faxed my doctor.. didn't even put my name on it. My doc just assumed it was mine. they denied me saying i was too far away and so then because of the new central registry my doc had to referral me to Windsor. which happened the beginning of July so far i have heard nothing from anyone ..*sigh*

Still Waiting
May 11, 2010
So yesterday i had my endocrinologist apt. and they did say i have PCOS and with all the problems that i could possibly have Cushings Disease so they are testing me for that., they have also decided to put me on metformin 2000mg a day. I haven't started them yet but they are sitting in front of me, also haven't heard anything from Hamilton. the original fax was sent on FEB 03, and then we hadn't even heard one thing from them.. not even confirmation about receiving the fax, so then they sent another one April 22 and still nothing.. its officially been 5 months since i started all this mess and have had nothing but bad luck..... lost my job, money is all gone, haven't been able to get my cpap covered so that's 1400 on my credit card, then had to get glasses for the first time which was another 200 then i hit my very first car and have to pay that out too and with no job its been really hard. i was really hoping to at least have a call stating they had received the fax but i haven't heard anything at this point I'm starting to think ill never get in. then i get a letter from the ministry of transportation stating my license is going to be suspended because i have sleep apnea unless i can get some papers sent in by some date.. that they don't explain in the letter at all... 2010 has been a horrible year so far

it's official
Mar 08, 2010
So i got the tests results from the second Glucose test and its official i am diagnosed with the type 2 diabetes. i now have a blood glucose meter to keep track of it. although they are not putting me on any meds yet they want to try and get the exercise and eating healthy first and see if that improves it. so now i officially have type 2 diabetes and moderate sleep apnea..
I need to contact the doctor and asked him to resend the fax i think. they sent the fax on Feb 3rd but have not yet heard that Hamilton received it. and i cant call Hamilton so I'm at a loss as to what to do now. so maybe ill contact my doc and ask nicely to resend it and also make sure that they put the type 2 diabetes and the sleep apnea in there as i was diagnosed with both of them after the referral was sent.. the waiting game really sucks. espec the i don't know whats happening waiting game.

Sleep Apnea
Mar 04, 2010
So its been a week or so since my followup with my sleep doctor dude. I really couldn't understand him because he talked to fast and had a thick accent. But the assistant with him explained most of the things.. she said i slept for 88% of the time and woke fully up 11 times. Also i stopped breathing 23 times an hour. So i was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea and was diagnosed with a cpap machine, which i was lucky, i was able to drive right over to the SMG (sleep management group) store here in London and get my machine the same day. i get a free month trial. I'm hoping that my insurance got the info letter that i sent them. I'm possibly out of work next week. massive layoffs so I'm hoping because i sent this in before i lost my job that they will have to honor it.
The mask is hard to get used to. Because i breath mostly through my mouth i have a whole face mask, so it covers my mouth and nose. its hard to get used to. Ive lasted prob at most 4-5 hours with it on before I've had to take it off to get into a better position. But I'm sure i will get used to it sooner or later. Ive got an apt tomorrow for a another followup with the nurse, seeing how much weight i lost from the eating plan and exercise plus the results from the second glucose test i had to do.. So I'll post more tomorrow on the results from that.

More Tests
Feb 14, 2010
So i had the glucose tolerance test because my blood sugar was at 6.1. I went in for the test and my bs before was 6.7, i took the sugar drink and had to wait for two hours in the waiting room. then they take my blood again to test the blood sugar. So apparently any normal person would have gone back down to normal. I did not i was at 14.3 !!! very high. so i have to go for another glucose tolerance test just to be sure i guess. So I'm basically officially Diabetic pending another test. Also with all the intestinal probs I've been having most of my life, i find out that my great grandma had Celiac Disease. so I'm gonna have to be tested for it as well. yippy.
So as of Feb My tests are
Feb 5th - glucose tolerance test
Feb 12 - followup with nurse petitioner and results from glucose test
Feb 19 - another glucose tolerance test
Feb 25 - followup from sleep study for sleep apnea
March 5 - followup with nurse petitioner and results from second glucose test
May 10 - Endocrinologist Apt
So many apts this year its nutty.
