I have a surgery date. I am scheduled for January 20, 2009.

 
I receive a call from medical coordinator today and I am APPROVED. Thank GOD he have answered my prayer.  Now I am waiting on my surgery date but I have to wait until my nurse return from training next week. I would like to have surgery sometime during the first two weeks in December or the last two weeks in January.

I completed my Pre-op class today. It went well but was too long. So, now I am waiting on a date for surgery. The health co-coordinator stated that she would be sending my information for approval.

I am in a good mood today. I received a call from one of  my dietitian regarding the pre-oper classes. She wanted to know if I would be willing to allow her to do my last session with the dietitian and attend the pre- oper orientation following the session. You know what my answer was "sure, no problem". I am scheduled for November 5, 2008. The medical coordinator states that she has been getting approval back in three days. Therefore, I hope and pray that everything happens that fast for me. I more than ready to begin to feel like the old high school/college girl again. I want to feel like getting up and becoming involved in activities without feeling like I am going to dead from chest pain, leg pain and no being able to breath. So wish me luck and I will keep you updated.

This is my fifth session with the dietitian. The session went well. I don't feel as encouraged as the first sessions. Maybe it is that time is winding down and my anxiety about approval is growing. I am left the session thinking I will be glad to be done with the dietitian. I am writing in an attempt to get over the negative thoughts I am having at this time. I have one more session with the dietitian. That session is scheduled for 11/05, hopefully I feel better after that session.

I met with Dr. Buph to complete my psy evaluation. The psy eval went well. I enjoyed talking with Dr. Bubp. The hardest or should I say the longest part of the evaluation was the 800 questions. At the end of the session, Dr. Buph told me "I did well and he think I will be a good patient for the surgery. I was glad to hear that news. I have three more months to get everything completed. I am getting anxiety and scared that I will not get approved. If I am denied approval I will be so disappoint.

I had consultation with Dr. Gomez. It was easy and painless. We talked and he answer my questions. He recommend the gastric sleeve as the surgery of choose.

I had my first session with the Dietitian. It will very well and I felt great after the session. She was very encouraging and I am moving forward.

I attended the orientation session for weight management that was held by the hospital. It was the second time I had attended a session. The first time I became very frustrated with the process and gave up moving ahead. However, this time I was determined to move beyond that point. I was on my way to a healthier me

I am here because I need to exhale. I have not been approved for this surgery and my anxiety is about to take over. I have been struggling with the decision for a year and finally a couple of months ago decide to go forward with having the decision. My family is very supportive of my decision and will be there for me.
