6 Months Out & 100lbs down post op!

Feb 25, 2013

I am excited!!! I have had quite the 6 months... I'll tell ya what. However, it has been more than worth it. I have finally hit my 100lb post op mark and I can barely contain my excitement. My total loss has been 143lbs...an entire person in less than 1 year! I never thought it was possible, just something that dreams were made of. The RNY provided my with the greatest foundation to get my butt in gear and accomplish something that felt like an impossibility. I still have almost 80lbs to go, but I can see that final goal line and I think I am more driven than EVER! I look at my profile pic and I think...why? Why did I let it happen, but I am not going to dwell on it because I am writing a new story...a much healthier one!!! kiss

Week 5-exercise!!!

Sep 20, 2012

So, I am now 5 weeks out and am able to exercise. As I mentioned before I had planned on taking some Zumba classes with some friends. My first class was on Wednesday. OMG... I got my butt handed to me. I was foolish though and didn't think about properly hydrating before the lesson. That day I barely drank...maybe 16 ounces. During the lesson, I was so HOT, but was not sweating at all. My skin went sandy and my mouth was like a desert. I had a water bottle with me, but the small sips my pouch allowed was not nearly enough! By the end of the class I was dizzy and my body was on FIRE... I knew what I did wrong and BELIEVE me... I was NOT going to do that again. I found the nearest cold wall and laid up against it. Zumba was SUPER fun though. Tonight was my second class and I mad sure that I properly hydrated ALL day long...the results were MUCH better and the class was a blast. Oh, and it jump started my weight loss too. ..THANK GOODNESS.

URGH!!!!

Sep 14, 2012

I've stalled/ hit a plateau... this early!!! Why, why, why, why?!? I know they say not to get on the scale everyday, but I had liked watching the number go down...however when that needle doesn't move for a week you start to panic ***and i'm freaking out!!! I am really frustrated, but not discouraged. Since I am now able to do normal exercise and thanks to a great group of friends...ZUMBA here I come!!! Those darn pounds will come off if I have to dance my butt off to make it happen.

Almost 4 weeks post op

Sep 10, 2012

Okay,
So I am nearly 4 weeks post op (RNY 8/17/12). I am actually feeling great with the exception of getting physically i'll everytime I smell food. What is that about and is it going to pass? I hope so. It seems as though I cannot tolerate chicken...AT ALL! I found that out real fast. I have not vomited, but I come awefully close. I am struggling with my vitamin...yes, I wanna take it, but it makes me queasy! I am getting all of my liquids, but my protien is a different story...ugh, this is going to be a challenge! I am pretty much healed on the outside, just waiting for the inside to catch up. Oh, and why do I have the feeling that I am losing weight super slow? I don't know I am just ready to get moving! My son, husband, and I have 2- 5k's planned for the same weekend in October woohoo!!!! One is a Diabetes walk and the other is the Grateful Dog walk...super excited.
