Hi Somer,
Ya know, I'm trying to remember what I did to mentally prepare for surgery, as my doctor had said to take 2 days off before it, and relax and meditate. I was really relaxed the day of the surgery only because I had the utmost confidence in my surgeon; but having so much knowledge now on the risks, I don't know if I'd have been as calm if I had to do it now.
Breathe deep, take some bubble baths (cause you'll miss those for a short time), have a glass of wine if you drink (cause you'll be giving that up too); go to the beach and sit and think of how the new you will feel being thinner, healthier, and happier. Make a list of the things you can't do now, that weight loss will alow you to do after. Start writing a journal of your thoughts, and continue it afterwards.
As you take your journey to the inner, and thinner you, remember:
The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance; but the Lord looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7
For I am the LORD, you God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13
Don't tell GOD how big your storm is. Tell the storm how big your GOD is!
Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31
Hoping you have a successful surgery, a rapid recovery, and much success in your weight loss journey.
