Nothing has really changed. Everything remains the same. Im down to 299. Im continuing to work my tool. Today is my 4th day back to work and I find im still
very tired in the afternoons. Ive been holding at 299 for a few days, that usually means my period is on the way.

7 weeks post op: 304 lbs
May 26, 2009
Today Im 7 weeks post op and Ive lost 9 lbs this week for a grand total of 37 lbs
for 7 weeks. I think Ive done very well. Im feeling good and eating everything. I
have no issues with food except for the occasional pains when I eat too fast but
Im learning!
Next week I start back to work. Im dreading all of the questions I know I most certainly do face but I will work it out somehow. I cant wait to see
my family when I go on vacation in august. I hope they have trouble
recognizing me. On to week 8.

6 weeks post op: 313 lbs

I dont quite understand whats going on with my body. Last week my menstrual
cycle began and I was up from 311 to 317. I wanted to hit the roof. The only thing
I can think of is my menstrual cycle and the fact that I have been without BP meds
for a little over a week so some of this might be water weight. one can only hope.
Aside from that I am feeling really good and can eat anything. I have not had nausea or dumping at all. My dr says I just might be one of those people who do
not dump. once again, one can only hope. I can eat Fish, chicken, tuna, cold cuts, cheese, bread, brown rice, chili, vegetables (cooked and raw) with no issues and I
consider that a blessing. I have one more week before I return to work so Im looking forward to week 7.
I saw my dr on May 15th. he said I am right on target for the way he wants me to
lose the weight. he doesnt want me losing any more than 2-3 lbs per week to give my skin as much chance as possible to snap back. Im still not allowed to join a gym. perhaps when I see him again July 10th he will let me go to the gym. until then the workout is on my treadmill at home.

5 weeks post op: 311 lbs

Today Im 5 weeks post op and continuing to do well and feel well. I had my first menstrual cycle since the surgery and the pain was worse than anything Ive ever
experienced before. I hope that gets better. I will be seeing my surgeon tomorrow so I will ask him about that.

4 Weeks post op: 313 lbs
May 10, 2009
Okay so Im into my 4th week and am feeling wonderful. Im now at 313 lbs which represents a loss of 28 lbs. who wouldve ever thought I could lose this weight and
not be hungry, not me...thats for sure.
I can eat almost anything and have not had any dumping episodes, although I have
had pain when eating too fast and I have to remind myself to slow down. sometimes I actually get up and walk away for a few minutes. I now eat chicken, fish, tuna, chili, cold cuts, cheese and I have 2 protein shakes everyday. my protein level is at around 120 g. I rarely eat anything without protein. it seems like such a waste.
Anyway, I have my follow up with my surgeon on the 15th and I hope everything is going well.

3 Weeks post op: 318 lbs
Apr 28, 2009
Okay Im 3 weeks post op today and down to 318. My BMI dropped from 60 to 56 and thats always a good thing. somehow I expected to lose more.
Progress is good but I expected to be losing more, but I'll take my 23 lbs and run with it...Im so glad that the scale is moving again.
I have 1 more week of blended foods. my diet now consists of protein drinks, eggbeaters, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese, string cheese, chili, soups. Im considering ordering higher protein foods so I wont have to eat all day like Im
doing now. I absoloutely dispise protein drinks so I only drink them when Im low
on protein. I will be glad when I can start on soft foods for some variety.
The constipation is an absoloute horror though. I must talk to my dr about this at
my next visit. I think its the iron pills thats the culprit.
On to week 4!!!

2 weeks post op: 325 lbs
Apr 22, 2009
Okay here I am, 2 weeks post op.
Im surprised at the tiny bit of food that its taking to fill me however Im happy
to be in stage 3, blended foods. I was getting kind of tired of liquids. now my diet consists mainly of egg beaters, cottage cheese and sugar free pudding but its okay because I love those things. because these foods have a decent amount of protein
I was able to get my protein in without the assistance of protein shakes which I hate
anyway.
Im feeling really good these days, no more pain. Ive started walking outside when I
feel up to it but I find that I get tired really fast.
The scale hasnt moved for more than a week now. my body is really resistant to
any kind of weight loss and I think its trying to hold onto every bit of this weight so, for now Im just gonna keep on doing what Ive been doing and hope the scale moves soon.

Week 1: Post op
Apr 15, 2009
I had my follow up appt today and I weighed in at 325.5 I cant believe it. just one week
ago I weighed 341. I was so happy I was dancing all over the place.
I also got my drainage bag removed. I felt my insides moving around so much I almost jumped
off the table but Im glad its over.
I was also moved to stage 2 for my foods and to my surprise, my cream of wheat stayed down
and didnt give me any issues at all.
Im so happy I cant stand it sometimes.

Day 6: Post op
Apr 13, 2009
Im feeling really good today with no pain left at all. I do have extreme itchimg as it seems I may be
allergic to the tape holding my drainage line in place. I have my follow up tomorrow and the drainage line is supposed to be taken out. I certainly hope so.
