3 Month Post-op Appointment

Friday I went to my 3 month post-op appointment which was a little early since I'll be 3 months on Thursday 7/12. I didn't get to see my surgeon since he was not available. I didn't like the doctor I got to see plus they didn't have my lab results. Grrr. I did however find out good news. I have lost 26% of my excess weight. The doctor said if I continue losing at this rate I'll be at goal by my 1 year anniversary. I hope this will happen but I doubt it because of stalls and plateaus. I haven't had one yet but I'm sure my body will have to catch up sometime. I'll just continue what I am doing and see what happens. My biggest problem has been the emotional issues that come along with losing weight. I have a bit of depression which I am trying to deal with. It has been quite difficult. Hopefully it gets better with time.

Go on a cruise

Wear a dress

Wear shorts

Wear a skirt

Wear lingerie

Buy clothes that is not plus sized

Exercise regularly

Lose 100 lbs. by 9/12/2007

Run a mile

Jog a mile

Not be embarrassed when I see people from high school

Be under 300 lbs

Be under 200 lbs

Buckle any seat belt comfortably

Skip

Run

Jog

Make over

Glamour shots

Reach my goal weight of 150 lbs.

Buy womens shoes

Go party/clubbing

Not worry about chairs breaking when I sit

Not be the biggest in the crowd

Be 350 lbs 2 months post op

Help others around me become more healthy

Stop being afraid of what people think and say

Live a longer healthier life

Post-Op

So I had surgery on April 12. Everything went perfect! I was out of the hospital in two days. I woke in the recovery room. I had severe pain in my chest and stomach. That didn't last long since I was immediately given pain medicine. The pain was accompanied by lots of burping. I remembered being wheeled into my room which my family was already in. I layed there in and out of sleep for a couple of hours. Within hours of surgery I was up and walking. That night I woke up every hour and a half and walked. I was told to walk, walk, and walk so i did. The nurses were surprised that I was walking so much. I had to, I knew this was very importanat in my recovery. The following days I recieved a tray of clear liquids and optisource to try out. I was able to take the liquids fine. I had these throughtout the day and was able to go home the following morning. 

One thing I didn't realize is that my clothes would not fit anymore. My abdominal area is still swollen and bruised so my clothes doesn't fit. It was disappointing but I know this is only temporary. This has been a very emotional time and I know this is going to be a difficult journey but I am sure I can make it through. Thanks to the support of my loved ones.
