My Mom had gastric bypass surgery in 2001 and I thought she was crazy. She went through hell but she lost A LOT of weight. I thought to myself why can't she just lose the weight on her own? Well after struggling with obesity for 10+ years myself, that answer is painfully clear. The decision to have weight loss surgery and carrying through with that decision was the most difficult of my life. It took courage and strength I never thought I had. November 9, 2009 was the end of one journey and the beginning of another. It's a difficult road ahead, but I am no stranger to hard work.
