2 Months out!
Sep 10, 2008
Hi everyone.. I'm just over 2 months out. I don't even feel like I have had surgery. I feel great! I'm down about 50ish pounds. I NEVER could have done it without the RNY surgery. I am so happy. I have had some issues with the Bariatric Surgeons office that I went through. My surgeon has left the practice, and when I went to go to my appt the other day the office didn't even know I had an appt. It seems like since my surgeon has left no one thought to notify his patients. No letter, no communication NOTHING! Dr. Moon was an excellant surgeon, and I would recommend anyone who is looking for Lap RNY to look him up. I will be sure to post his next office contact on here when I receive it... (If I ever do). Arnot Health Bariatrics Division has no clue what a wonderful doctor they lost!
Surgery is complete
Jun 29, 2008
Hi!
I had surgery on Thursday morning, out of the hospital Saturday because the doctor said I looked way to good to be in the hospital. Woo Hoo, that was such a surprise to me, not because I didn't also see how good I was doing but because according to the "book" I would be there until Sunday. I am home and doing well on the clear liquid diet. I did find that things were way to sweet for me. Sugar free Jello was terrible my first try. I never thought anything would be to sweet. :)
Day 4 is today and I still have the drain in but sleeping much better at home in my own bed. So far I wouldn't change my decision to have this surgery for anything.

Surgery has been scheduled
Jun 01, 2008
I am so excited. My surgery has been scheduled for June 26th. I've told my work and most of my friends. Everyone is so excited for me. They know what a long battle this has been. 15 years and counting. I'm fining a little reluctance by some friends. They seem to be the friends that are over weight also. They are giving me negative vibes. They too diet frequently with little to no results only to regain the weight like myself. They just seem to be more successful at their tries. I think they don't really believe in the surgery. Oh well... I DO! I need help! I am so excited and not scared at all. I have done so much research I am so prepared. :)
moving along
May 13, 2008
Well, things have really moved along since my last post. I had all my appts in by April 22nd, and I am just waiting for the insurance companies approval for surgery. Dr. Moon's office was able to get me in just like he said, and I was moved right along. Let's hope the insurance company get's me an answer soon. I called and they said they just rec'd the doctors letter for authorization permission on 5/7/08. Hopefully I'll hear something really soon... I do have a wedding dress to buy... LOL
Had Consultation
Mar 21, 2008
Well I met with Dr. Moon on Wednesday and I am really optimistic about surgery. I get married in November and would love to be on my way to a new body. I'm a little nervous about the hair loss that he is talking about. My next appt is 4/8/08 for the 4 hour group consultation and then not again until 5/5/08 for my meeting with the social worker and nutritionist. The receptionist would keep me on the "cancellation" list so if anyone cancels before that they will get me in. They are working with me to get this thing done ASAP and have me ready for my wedding! YES!
