I am attending the Catalyst Conference later this week; its a leadership conference for local church leaders... put on by Andy Stanley's ministry! Will be exciting to see 12,000 followers in the Gwinnett Arena!
Well, gotta go study and work...
Can't seem to keep my mind focused.
Exciting couple of weeks...

We've adopted a little puppy and I am excited to think by next summer when he is bigger that I can go run with him because most of my weight will be off. See, positive thoughts! He is a black lab mix that is about 8 weeks old. I think he will grow into his name of Simon Peter... nickname of course will be Simon, by the kids.
My shift changed this week back to 11p to 7a which is better for my family. My goal in the next week is to clean my room out... get all my clothes in order.. including going through all my old, way to small clothes that I will be able to wear again!
I have lost 7 lbs in the last week... and feel better already. Trying to get 20-25 off before surgery. Hopefully I will be able to. I am drinking more protein shakes and really only eating good protein and veggies, with as few carbs as possible.
This next week is ultra busy: starting a new bible study tomorrow w/ 9 other women that I am leading... working overtime, rehearsals for a fundraising gig with my worship team (I am the sound man! lol) ... and watching my grandson on Fri-Sat until heading out for the gig.
Still thanking and praising God for this second chance at getting myself healthy. I have found that between getting older and knowing how good it felt to be thinner, getting bigger this time has really be hard emotionally and physically. I am determined!
Still excited...trying to get my mind around this

Well, I've lost 4 lbs in 3 days, but only because I have been on a prayer fast for church and personal reasons. Ended the fast today, but made good choice for dinner and had 4 oz of tuna. I did not drink with my meal! Yeah! I have another hour before I can drink.
I work in shift work which is another challenge in this journey. I am also trying to find a good nutritionist once I am done with the first 3 month post op diet.
My kids and grandson are coming to see me at work...excited! Going to blog more later.
Blessings!
Well, here I go again...

I am starting again. I have a revision to my RNY scheduled for October 15th with Dr. Michael Williams at Emory at John's Creek. I am very happy to have this opportunity for a second chance! With a combination of surgery issues and failure on my part, I have gained all but 30 lbs. back from my initial RNY in 2001.
I started out in December of 2001 at 280 lbs and by the time 14 months had passed, I lost down to 137 at my lowest. I was 137 for about 10 minutes! Seriously, I did great! Was at the gym for the next year and a half and kept the weight off, balanced around 150 for the next few years.
Then, I could suddenly eat much more and I failed at following the "rules". I tried to start the process of having a revision about 2 years ago, but was denied by my insurance (BCBS ,then and now) and the doctor I had chosen was not very helpful in assisting in an appeal.
I decided to give it one more shot in April this year. Well, by May 22nd I was in the OR having an endoscopy so Dr. Williams could look at my surgery and decide if I was a candidate for a revision. There was about 8 weeks after that, that I had to put my goal on hold due to work and family issues. So about the 2nd week of August, I called the doctor's office back and of course I had been put inactive.
I asked Jackie in the office to put me back active and tell me what esle I needed to do to get the balling in motion again. She said she would talk to the doctor and get back with me. I talked to her a few days later and she said she was going to submit the paperwork and we'd find out soon.
Well, last Friday, on August 21st, Jackie called me and said I was approved and offered me a surgery date of Sept. 10th! I was in total SHOCK! I was unable to take that date due to, once again, work and family, but she scheduled me for October 15th. This gives me time for my cardiac and pulmonary clearance... and time for me to wrap my head around this journey I am about to take again.
FOR THE LAST TIME! I am determined. I am determined. With God, my support of family and friends, and following the RULES... I will suceed once again!
I got the insurance letter in the mail on Monday, yesterday and it has made it so much more tangible! My pre-op is scheduled and I just have to get thing ready now. I think it will be the same as it was in 2001... I felt like I was nesting for a new baby! I am nesting.. for a birth, rebirth... again! Welcomed and needed!
Thank you Jesus for this opportunity again!
