Hi. As most people that I have read about here on OH, I have had a weight problem most of my life. I did lose about 50 pounds in early 90's, but life happened and I ended up gaining it all back, plus a lot more.
I have been thinking about this surgery off and on for a while. I have a consult with a Doctor next week (on my birthday no less) and am attending a seminar by another doctor the following weekend (thought I would "comparison shop").
I am only considering the lap band. I want a less invasive surgery than gastric bypass and I like the idea of the adjustability of the band. My insurance should cover a good portion of the procedure.
