I have battled with my weight for years. I went through a period of depression after the loss of one of our twin boys in 2002. I spent the next five years just packing on the pounds and being more depressed and more unhealthy. One medical problem after another just kept popping up. In 2004 I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus, Sjogrens Syndrome, PCOS, Fibromyalgia and etc. After several attempts at weight loss I made the decision to have Lap Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass. I felt as though my life was on a downhill slide with absolutely no hope in sight. Over the years I had many thoughts of suicide and worthlessness, even after seeing counselors. It wasn't until I woke up one day looked at my wonderful husband and four beautiful children and said that no one is going to make my life better but me. With that I started making small step to a better life. Gastric Bypass was just one small step in that equation. On Nov. 7th I had Lap Roux-en-Y. It has been a struggle to say the least. I had a tough recovery and have been throwing up about everyday since. But, I still have more energy and am just thrilled with the results. I have lost 40 pounds!!! I can't believe that it is coming off so quickly! I am exercising 5x per week and just started the Billy Blanks workouts. There are days I still wonder what in the *!#@ did I do but I know in the end I will be really happy I did it!!
