My story begins with an adult life of trying to lose weight. I graduated from high school a size 11 at 155 and was already overweight and didn't know it. Here I am twenty-three years later and haven't been under 200 pounds since the birth of my second child 12 years ago. In January of this year I began to truly research my options. I like many others had tried every diet: Jenny Craig, Optifast, Weight Watchers, you name it I tried it!
This journey was the easy part because there was so much information out there and I knew several people who had completed the RNY procedure. The amazing part is even those with complications said they would have done it again in a heart beat. I made up my mind in January 07 and started the process, appts., evaluations, blood work and then here came my mistake I told everyone about my surgery and ...my other family members - mother, sisters, aunts and cousins began calling me and discouraging me. My immediate family husband and kids supported me. I scheduled the surgery and had to reschedule because of a conflict in my work schedule.
Here I am now May 23 one week and one day from my surgery and I will never look back with any regrets. The healing process is going well and today I will have my stables removed.
