Today is Wed. Dec. 13, 2006. I am 5 months post op, down 40 pounds with 40 pounds to go. I'm 1/2 way to my goal weight. I started out at 231 pounds and my goal weight is 150. I am also 1/2 way to my recreating myself, a journey of transforming myself.
I noticed the first of November, 4 months post op, my hair is shedding like a dog. It saddens me very much as I've worked so hard to grow it long for the past 5 years. It was very thick and healthy. My ponytail is only half the orginal cirfumference that it was pre-op. I wish the shedding would stop. I take handfuls of extra hair supplements. I also consumed 80-100 grams of protein daily post-op as well as taking all the extra supplements. It seems this was one bullet I couldn't dodge no matter how much I prepared for the owrse.
On October 13, 2006, journey of plastic surgery. At this time I had my whole face laser resurfaced, upper and lower eyelids lifted, and fat from my hip injectioned into my nasal folds and into upper and lower lips. This is my second surgery for the year of 2006. One being the LAP RNY, and then the facial plastic surgery. Maybe two anesthesia's also spurned the hair loss to begin.
Several days ago I started on the upper teeth with new bridge work and porcelain crowns for a prettier smile. This dental procedure will be completed by the end of next week when the final casting is done.
After I reach my goal weight, I'm presuming this will be next summer, I plan on 2 more surgeries. One will be an abdomioplasty and breast augmentation, and the other will be a 2/3rd's lower face lift.
My tranforamtion will be complete then.
It's very exciting to know that I am 1/2 way done with my self recreating adventure. I am proud of how far I have come. It would not have been possible without the Lap RNY to kickstart this transformation. I am excited to be out in the public. I even took a cruise by myself last week and thoroughly enjoyed myself and self assurance and self esteem.
Life is excitng and getting better all the time. Life is good and I am happier and much healthier than I was pre-op. Life is good...
