"What was your first impression of him/her? He is a wonderful man. I have known of him for years as we worked in the same hospital over 14 years ago. He is a well respected surgeon. How much does he/she emphasize aftercare? He makes sure you understand how important it is. Does he/she have a structured aftercare program? Yes How did he/she address the risks of surgery? Very well. Very open and blunt. How would you rate him/her overall? 10 out of 10 Which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or both great? Both MUST be there. I can't have a doctor who is clinically great but is a jerk. "
