I am now 5 months out. I n the last several months. I have moved from Europe to GA. What a hectic time. Changed countries, bought a home, began a new job. I have lost 83 pounds currently. I am excited to see the scale going down. Life with my husband is great. We are having fun.

I am one month out. I have lost 36 pounds. I took pictures and can actually see some of the loss. My clothes are just now beginning to feel slightly baggy. I am still having trouble with getting all the fluids in and enough protein. I hate the protein drinks. My husband has been awesome in making things for me to eat and helping me get the protein in. I am a lucky woman. I made it through the holidays and the only time I have had a moment was when I first saw the girl scoout cookies. I did miss the thin mints but not enough to even try one. I am becoming proud of myself.

I have lost 28 pounds. I felt great the first 2 weeks but I am dragging this week. I have found that it takes me 2 hours to get functioning in the mornings. I have previously been one to jump up and get going. I am now back at work. Trying to balance food and water. I hate the protein drinks. I got a blender and hope that will help. I also am catching a cold. I have been avoiding it but my child brought it into the home and I can feel it coming. It makes it hard to drink water.  The only place I can tell I have lost is my hands and under my arms. My husband says he can tell in my face. I am excited about the loss. We have just found out we will be moving in 6 weeks. That should keep things hopping.

I had my surgery last tuesday. Everything went well and they were able to do it laproscopicilly (spelling) I came home on sat. I had a lot of swelling from the IV fluids and just now feel like I am losing all the excess. I broke down and had my husband take a before photo and then weighed in at the hospital. My starting weight was 324.5. I just keep telling myself that is the highest it will ever be.
I have found that my sense of smell is very sensitive. I feel good. People sound so surprised on the phone that I am doing well. I think part of it is that I mentally feel better and am happy with my decision.

1 week till surgery

Nov 27, 2006

I am scheduled to have my surgery in one week on Dec 5th. I am ready. I have been thinking and praying about this for a year. My BMI is 53. I am trying to make sure I have everything I need at home for the recovery time. I will post my weight at surgery when I get brave enough for the final step on the scales. I know at that moment it will be the highest it will EVER be.
