Hello!! Im not real sure how to update this, but this is close...After a long battle, a new job and hard work...I did have Lap. gastric bypass surgery Nov. 6th.... Now it's a whole new ball game!! Thanks for all the support!!! Hi, I'm Sheila. A 35 year old wife and mother of 3. I have been begging for surgery for over two years now. I have UHC, Choice Plus Insurance and after exhausting all appeals, writing to officials, Dept.of Health, going to Advocacy Services, voc. rehab services, trying for Medicaid, I have hit every brick wall known to human. My BMI has gone up, now to 44. I have been diagnosed with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, among many other problems. And no one seems to care. I am exhausted, in pain and depressed with all I'm made of of. The medication I am on is costing me a limb...why can't they understand? I know UHC has plans that cover the surgery, just not mine and they refuse to add a rider, and the employer refuses to change policies. I have looked into other jobs for myself as well as my husband's....NO LUCK around here.
